pleasantly surprised
decent course overall.....(considering mgd by Golf North).........would definitely play again.
Not for begginers
Course was in reasonably good shape, greens were ok except for divot marks not repaired, fairways were good and the rough was rough. All in all a good experience for not playing this course in many years.
Great course
Enjoyed our day, staff was friendly and the course was in excellent condition.
Average Course but better options out there in KW
Played Friday Afternoon,
Staff were great and very accommodating, course was pretty rough. There was a tournament played earlier in the day but overall condition of this course was pretty rough. Played Rebel and Grey Silo the next day which were not much more money but a lot more value.
Nice Thursday PM at FOXWOOD
Blue course seemed in better condition than the wide, and most members headed that way; they seem to spend more time over time for maintenance than the white, which seems to be allocated for visitors. There are some nice elevation changes. A few intersecting paths could lead to confusion. Nice layout nevertheless. They could indicate where the creeks and/or water streams are located though - no big deal as they are easy to fly the ball over them.
Shoot straight and you should be OK.
First time playing this course. Played white and red.
It is not a long course with the black tees playing just over 3000yrds for both, but with some tight fairways, small greens and doglegs, you can't afford to spray it too much. Bring a few sleeves of balls. Some nice elevation changes and rolling fairways makes it more interesting too.
my opinions
My booking time was 5:24pm. It was so difficult to play 18hole completely. As you know, It was time too late to play 18hole all.You should not sale late pm's booking. There is no lights.
It was not good. Others was not bad.
Foxwoods is a great course
Challenging course that makes you use a lot of clubs. Had a blast and would go back. Only problem was the beer cart girls were pulled for the day due to a minor 10minute rain.
Needs some TLC
Played both the White and Red courses. Found the greens to be in only fair to poor shape. Some of the cart paths badly washed out. Have always liked playing at Foxwood I realize it was a harsh winter and the course still reflects the effects of it.
Fine course
The day was good the staff helpful, The course was clear with the pace easy for 4 in a cart. I will go back. The course seems in better overall condition in the last 4 years
challenging
wonderful course, this course has 3 nines. great value for the money.
Great day
Maps on holes indicating water holes would be a bonus.fast play. Great course.
Buyer beware
Has been a few years since I have played this course and was looking forward to see if there has been any improvements. Unfortunately the course has gotten worse....I don't think there was an even tee block that wasn't just dirt with a bit of grass.
I also used to praise these golf courses for their excellent food...now the kitchen doesn't open until 10:00am with a fraction of the menu. Was looking forward to a Western for breakfast before teeing off at 7:30 and was told no sorry kitchen closed until 10:00am now. I thought no big deal I can wait and will eat after....some wings for lunch. then find out after they don't do wings anymore either....so left without eating anything.
So not impressed with the course at all and talking with buddies over a beer off the course (yes we left to eat somewhere else!) and having a laugh about the one staff member complaining about the other guy who just checked us in and that his days were numbered due to poor customer service....ahem it's poor customer service to complain to customers about other staff....anyway we then realize he over charged us and we paid full rack rate not the discounted online booking price I had reserved. it's early in the morning and no one was paying any attention and we wound up paying $72 each rather than $57.50 discounted rate...and this was on top of my $11.00 site fee....so we were also overcharged above full rack rate for a goat track with poor service and offerings.
Highlight was the young guy who helped my older gents in our group with their clubs....he was great and they were very appreciative and were sorry they never tipped him.
Will never go back and I have a round with clients scheduled at another Golf North Course Mystic next week and am seriously considering moving that to a club link or even municipal course!
Buyer beware
condition
overall i found the course to be in not too good of shape. Lost many balls due to hardness of ground.
Foxwood Course
Friendly staff. Course in good condition. Weather was great.
Not much to it
Short holes, lots of irons off the tee with no risk reward for hitting driver.
Foxwood Blue-White
Course in pretty good condition, greens were good, but bunkers contain alot of rocks.
not too bad, a good deal for the price
played the blue and white, some greens still a bit spotty, but overall a good deal, we paid 28 $ each with a cart on golfnow
