The Golf Club At Fossil Creek
About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

Greens are in great shape.
Play this course often. Greens are in excellent shape and have always been the best part of the course. Bunker have always been substandard to down right unplayable, fortunately they are being re done.
Pace of play is frequently an issue here, a solid marshall would help quite a bit…particularly in the heat.
Fun layout with some interesting holes. Would recommend for greens alone.
Nice course
Course was in really good shape. Greens are really nice on the back. Staff was friendly and attentive. Cart girl was there past 7:00 pm, also had water to drink in several coolers. Will be back , great job guys/gals. Thanks
Horrible pace of play
Course was in good shape. Pace of play was horrible, no marshals on course. Didn't even have enough carts , had to wait until 10 minutes before tee time to get a cart.
Great course!
Great course and great service! Would absolutely recommend to a friend! Can’t wait to play here again!
The course conditions
The overall condition was great, the course is redoing the sand traps so they were unplayable which is understandable, overall great experience again....
Fossil creek n ftw
Beautiful track. Love the layout. When I played it was 100+ degrees so I naturally had it to myself. But somehow through all the heat they’ve kept it in beautiful condition. They were re-doing the bunkers. Very solid for someone visiting Fort Worth looking for a fun, short but challenging, affordable course in Fort Worth
Great first round
This was my first round at Fossil Creek and I loved the course. There were a lot of great shots and views, plenty of challenging angles that I unfortunately fell prey to. Absolutely will be back in the near future.
Fossil Creek
Its a tough course that can get away from you fast but I typically play at Iron Horse and man they go above and beyond! I am used to seeing a cart girl every 5holes usually and the cart girl gives out cold towels as well as the marshall drives around offering them out as well.
Fairways and greens in excellent condition
They are re-doing all the sand traps making them unplayable but rest of course in great shape.
The Worst Course Condition for the money
This course condition is the worst for $125/round on weekends. Fairways, greens, and bunkers are in the worst shape. This is not the first I played this course!
Arcis should be ashamed of themselves
This course used to be decent with plush fairways and smooth rolling fast greens. Right now and pretty much ever since it’s become a part of Arcis it’s gone downhill. Bunkers lacks sand and probably haven’t been turned over in months. Almost every one we saw today had netting showing in the bottom and we’re packed in. Some had deep ruts like water had rushed through them. Carts were terrible. The one we had did not want to turn to the left and tbh was dangerous to drive. Windshield was broken also. Our tee time was at 3:20pm and they didn’t even have any carts available which was huge surprise. At $79 regular rate I won’t be back. They need to get this place cleaned up or start charging what it’s worth which is about $40 if that. What a disappointment!
Surprised....Good & Bad
So I'll start with the 'Good' - Hot Deal price was exceptional, Greens were fast as lightning, halfway house was top notch. 'Bad' - Pace of play was horrendous as in 3+ hours for our back 9, bunkers were terrible. Overall, it was okay given the Hot Deal price but if I had paid a dollar more, then I wouldn't have been a happy camper. I had not played here in awhile and it appears as though they have moved this from a mid-high end resort like course to a low end public course. We saw signs of the old days but it's obvious that Arcis Golf has moved in a different direction. Would I play it again.....maybe!
