About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

GREAT CHALLENGING COURSE
This is my first time playing fossil Creek. I am about a scratch golfer. The course is in great shape. I love the fact that they have a halfway house to stop and get something to eat on hole number six headed to seven. Par threes are very challenging at 170+ yards. Be careful hitting your big driver on some power force you could roll straight into the water. All in all. This is an excellent course that is only 6 miles from my house.Will definitely be back when winds aren’t 45 miles an hour
Carts
Not enough carts.
Slow play - no marshal
There was a giant group of obvious regulars a d their money game right in front of us. They played very slow and putter one footers all day long seemingly missing most. It was over a five hour round of constantly waiting and resting in the hood of my cart.
What a great course but the lack of pace made for a miserable day. Never saw a marshal say a single word to anyone.
Enjoyable day
Played in touch conditions regarding weather. Course still one of my favorites and greens superb, fairways fine...Carts unavailable right up to tee time as many 3/4 somes using 3/4 carts...Covid affecting this logistical situation unfortunately, but pain to drag clubs from car to 1st tee to load up...
Great Course
Great course, challenging but fun. This is one of several courses I play, but I enjoy playing this course every couple of weeks.
The Pace of play for a Sunday Evening was good. The greens where dry and fast making it hard to read the greens and get puts into the holes! Overall great place to play and enjoy your freetime!
Fossil Creek worth the effort
Course is quite challenging and is very well maintained considering the amount of rounds played on it. Staff is nice and helpful. They used to be a bit lax on slow play but recently I've seen Marshalls out so that is improving. Would recommend for anyone in Fort Worth area. Also easy to get to off I-35
One of top courses in DFW
Great layout that will challenge you. Course is in great conditions and the greens were running smooth and very fast! Staff are all great and overall it's a very fun track.
Best Public Course In Fort Worth
Went on a golf trip with some friends from college. We played Texas Star, Tierra Verde, Waterchase, Hawks Creek, and Fossil Creek. All thought Fossil Creek was the best course out of the bunch.
Good conditions, odd layout, very slow
The course conditions were good, greens really nice, but the layout was terrible. The whole course just seemed gimmicky, only 3 (maybe 4 if you’re short) driver holes, basically every tee shot calls for a 230-250 yard little cut. Then there was the pace, 5 1/2 hours is absolutely ridiculous.
