About
Thankfully Fredericksburg offers this facility as a respite from incessant turista shopping along the main drag. While not overly fancy, this little Hill Country course gets the job done while the shoppers in the family spend their days in town.
The Jeffery D. Blume-designed track plays around 6,700 yards from the tips and includes plenty of trees and water hazards that get in the way.
You’ll notice the two par 5s on the front. No. 3 is the signature, playing 523 yards and forcing a shot over a creek, and another over a bluff. No. 5 is longer, a testy 578 yards from the back.
The most difficult rated hole is the No. 9, a 425-yard par 4, but the regulars complain more about the challenging 18th, an even longer par 4 that plays 450 yards from the tips.
Getting there : The course is just south of town on the west side of the highway.

Great course will be excellent when they get their greens back
Course was in excellent condition except the greens. Made for frustrating putts some were across colored sand. Full of disease and spots where they lost them. Bring the greens back and this will be one of the best courses I played .
Friday round
Greens were rough but overall course was great. Had a group in front of us from Colorado that said we paid our money so we can play however we want. So the front nine was slow but they left and the back was awesome !! Overall it was a great round. Will definitely be returning.
Decent for winter conditions.
Course is in decent shape, but there are a lot of bare spots in the fairways and putting is inconsistent due to weeds on greens.

Really enjoyed the layout, especially the front 9. For winter conditions it was perfect.
Hill Country Winter Golf
All staff were great, friendly and made us welcome. Carts were very clean. Fairway grass was dormant as expected, but could find acceptable place to play from. Greens good but invaded by some other grass maybe poana? We enjoyed the round and will return.
Ladybird always good
The course is a hidden gem and we play it year round! Love it, staff is awesome, red bird grill is excellent.
Great Course
This course is in good condition & the scenery is always a plus! The addition of the large clock & surrounding rock garden is very nice & indicative of the extra touches you get when playing at LBJ. The staff are friendly & accommodating. Will definitely be back every chance I get.
