Freeport's muni is more of a links-style track noted for its solid par 5 holes. Water comes into play in the form of rivers and lakes, but the course isn't overloaded with water. The par 5s in question each play well over 500 yards, and they're all rated as the most difficult holes on the course. No. 9 is the longest at 557 yards, but the most difficult is No. 7 at 520 yards.
Getting there : Driving north on Hwy. 36, turn right at Slaughter Rd. You will see the course when Slaughter dead-ends.

Fun layout, nice muni.
Nice, fun layout. Lots of water hazards, course management is at a premium, use your gps app to navigate your way around. Greens were in great shape!

Entertaining course
First time playing Freeport. Greens and fairways were much better then expected. Was pleasantly surprised. Course is well taken care of. Course layout can be challenging but not overly difficult. Being close to the gulf, wind conditions can bring in another added challenge. Overall, great bang for the buck, enjoyed the course, and plan to return soon.
