Freeport Municipal Golf Course
About
Freeport's muni is more of a links-style track noted for its solid par 5 holes. Water comes into play in the form of rivers and lakes, but the course isn't overloaded with water. The par 5s in question each play well over 500 yards, and they're all rated as the most difficult holes on the course. No. 9 is the longest at 557 yards, but the most difficult is No. 7 at 520 yards.
Getting there : Driving north on Hwy. 36, turn right at Slaughter Rd. You will see the course when Slaughter dead-ends.

Freeport
You cannot play a better course in Houston for 10 dollars.
Fairways are okay, but the greens are kept in amazing shape.
Relaxing Round
We had a very nice day for mid Feb. It got warm enough to bring a few gators out for the sun. We arrived before the crowd after a rainy morning so got around in 3.5 hours. The course is very playable but challenging enough with several water hazards. Greens were in very good condition for the season.
Nice course
The course itself was good. A group of 5 playing ahead of us should not be allowed. Slowed down play.
Good value for the money
On vacation from Minnesota,, so a lot warmer here in texas
Played for fifteen dollars 18 holes and a cart
Winner winner chicken dinner
Hope to play a few more times before I go back home
Pleasantly Surprise
At a price of $25 I was expecting a poorly maintained municipal course but was pleasantly surprised. The greens were in very good condition for the season. The cart paths made it very easy to find my way around the course.
Better than expected
Greens are fast, fairways have better grass then most and the price was good! Will play here again!
Small coastal city municipal
Rough playing conditions. Due to the previous week rainfall, the course was very wet. Pooling casual water low areas,
most all fairways. Cart path only. This was a surprise, since most courses have drained by now. Tall grass rough we’re signs of poor maintenance. Possibly due to poor drainage conditions? Greens were fair average, some were very good. Layout very basic. A good course for beginners. Also, mosquitoes were terrible, don’t forget bug spray.
Overall a good course
Freeport golf course is a great local course and has decent greens and fairways.
Terrible customer service
Booke tee time drove an hr to play, people we’re teeing off on hole number one when we arrived. WAlked into club house and was told because A/c unit in club wasn’t working they were closing and would not let anyone else out on the course. Terrible customer service!!!
