About
Freeport's muni is more of a links-style track noted for its solid par 5 holes. Water comes into play in the form of rivers and lakes, but the course isn't overloaded with water. The par 5s in question each play well over 500 yards, and they're all rated as the most difficult holes on the course. No. 9 is the longest at 557 yards, but the most difficult is No. 7 at 520 yards.
Getting there : Driving north on Hwy. 36, turn right at Slaughter Rd. You will see the course when Slaughter dead-ends.

Great South Texas course
Great course to spend a December day. Busy place but pace of play was great. Fairways hood and greens in good shape and fast
Great Course in all aspects
I’ve bee playing here for a few years now and have seen improvement. Layout has challenging shots but also has grip it and rip it tee boxes. Starters are just cool and clubhouse staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Cheap for a reason
Booked a round for $15 which was a great deal but the course is in terrible shape. There is very little grass in the fairways and the greens were not in very good shape at all. The pace of play was no fun sitting in the heat waiting for multiple groups of 3+
Good cheap golf
Only one complaint the sand out there is concrete. But for the price i will allways come back. The course itself is allways a fun course and if you really wana long drive ask about hole 13's back gold tees.
Very nice course
Course is wide open. Might not be very challenging for a low handicap, but for us mid-high handicap, it was a very fun course. Greens are small and in really great shape considering the lack of rain. Several small alligators in ponds, go some good photos with them in the background, makes for a great memory!!
Great value
This was my first time at this course, I got a hot deal and decided to try it. The tee boxes were in excellent shape. The greens were a little dry and hard but in decent shape. The only thing I can say with them being dry is that they were very fast. Our front 9 the pace was great, on the back 9 it took a little longer once we caught up to a group of 4. Overall I really enjoyed the course, it’s a little challenging on some holes with water on both sides but was fun.

Beautiful day on challenging course. Windy as usual! To be expected...
Easy play design
Happy Round, no wait, short drive from hole to hole.
Great value
Played 2/26 it was cold but the course had good grass on the fairways greens was great is could see new summer grass coming in as well. Carts are gas and very nice. Club house had great deals on new clubs I believe it was 14 bucks with booking fees for a 11:30 tee time on Saturday I will definitely go back again to play
