Poor customer service...but fast pace as no-one was there.
Unfriendly front counter staff in the bakery shop (there is no pro shop). This is not so much a golf course as a spare piece of land running around the outside of the orchards and berry farm. Almost all holes are par 3's but almost all holes are blind shots either up over trees blocking fairways from even existing or uphill so steep that the green isn't even in view. I am therefore wondering if either the previous reviews here are from staff that work in the area/farm or from non-golfers as this isn't a golf course in the true sense. As well as that, on arrival unless you are willing to argue the price on golfnow is including cart they will always try to squeeze another $25 extra for a cart. Without a cart it is walkable due to short length but some on the hills are VERY steep so if you have any ailments or are over 50 be aware of that.
very fun to play here
the course condition and utility have improved then last year, staff are friendly. will go back again.
Perfect Round for the Kids
I took my 3 kids to Hy Hope. FIrst thing they said to me when we finished was "when we playing again". That is all I needed to hear.
Now the course itself is excellent. Greens are small so hard to hit. Definitely was challenging to me.
Power cart is $25
Yes, they will charge you $25, and no credit card, cash or debit card only.
Great practice course
This course offered a great practice round for those looking to practice their short game. With some challenging part 3s on the back nine. If you make a mistake you will pay for it on your score card. Felt like we had the couse to ourselves. Will definitely go back there.
Great course for your short game
If you want to practice your short game and accuracy at a reasonable price, this is it. Narrow fairways with water hazards and trees. If you can hit straight 70% of the time, you can easily score birdies. The holes may be short but physically challenging.
Nice executive course with fast greens. quite scenic
Played 18 in just around 2 hours with cart. The greens were fast. There are a few longer holes spread thought to make you use a driver. Great course for short game, or with kids, and the fresh pies and butter tarts are quite unique. Orchards and gardens on some holes with views of lake Ontario, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering to the south. Great value!
This course is in good shape
It's not a long course. Good for my ten year old and I. It was in good shape.
The Course is pretty well maintained
It was nice to be back and at this course.. The condition is immaculate.. Don't forget to order your Blueberry Pie before your tee time by the time you are done. The Pie will be ready and hot ready to eat or take home..
Golnow deal for $14
Great value for hotdeal that came up the day of. For $14, I could've spent the same amount of money at the golf range but got a chance to spent the day trying out different shots.
This is a pretty short course but once again, no complaints except the excessive leaves but given that it's fall season it tends to happens.
This course has great features
This course has a lot of elevation, very well maintained, beautiful greens. Somewhat scenic.
Hy-Hope Farms
The course is immaculate and very well kept. There are alot of hazards to play around but for the most part a great place to golf, very friendly staff and great food afterwards.
Short game
Short course, but well manicured greens and fairways. Best place to practice your short game. Small greens, which makes it more challenging to all levels of play. Best deal for your buck. Best pies after your game at the store/ clubhouse. Friendly staff.
Wonderful and relaxing
Despite being a par60,it offers some challenging holes..be prepared and bring extra balls.
The people are lovely and keep the surroundings in great shape.
Will play again!!
interesting course for sure
Very scenic....good shape...unique holes.
Unique pro shop....it's part of farmers market store.
Great butter tarts
Try it
Good but short course
We regularly play Hy-Hope Farm as it is near home and not too pricy. Very scenic and well-maintained. The only down side is it's a really short course for 18 holes and would really be qualified only for 9 holes (total yardage is just a little over 3,000 yards for 18 holes). If you are in a hurry but want to play a relatively inexpensive and scenic course, Hy-Hope is a good choice.
Tough course
We were hesitant to try this course because of the cheap green fees...we thought it wouldn't be very good. However, this is a great course with really challenging holes, and we've now been back 5 or 6 times since June.
It's great that you can walk it in 3 or 4 hours, and we always grab a hot dog after and sit on the patio.
Great course for beginners
Took my wife here for her second round. Beautiful grounds, welcoming staff, mature trees. Very nice course. We would definatly return for another visit! And next time come earlier so we have time to visit their farmers market there. Onions, pies, flour, hand sewn aprons etc. Cant wait to come back! Thank you Hy Hopes Farm
Great course
First time playing here. It was great, beautiful greens and fairways. Not too much water or difficulty, which is great for a beginner like me, but still challenging. Loved all the hills. Food was good and it's an actual farm so they have fresh food to buy. Go if u get a chance
