Mountain Branch Golf Course

The driving range is the worst I ever been to. Cracked old worn out and unwashed balls for a premium price. If you pay for a small bucket you’re lucky if you get half of the advertised 45 balls as the ancient ball dispensing machine is worn out as bad as the balls. The mats under the roof are rock hard and will give you a bad case of tennis elbow.

The short game practice area is a joke. There’s a resemblance of a sand trap. Don’t you dare to use your own balls practicing there, the money hungry owner will chase you off.

The greens were really well kept and very fast. The hole placements were a little insane but otherwise I had a great round. Getting the ball to slow down and stay near the hole made it a challenge and increased my average by at least 6 strokes, but probably more.

Course was in very good shape. Fairways weren't to long, primary cut was playable and you could find your ball with a little effort. Greens rolled well and were pretty fast. Greens also had multiple levels and slopes on nearly every green. Very few flat putts. Much faster and they would be very difficult for most golfers. Plenty of room off the tee and sightlines were clear. Carts were only limited to paths on 1 and the par threes. Pace was quite good for most of the first 9 then things slowed down a lot. Waited on most shots after that. That said, round only took 4 hours. I will come back here in the future.

Are group had a great round at Mountain Branch. We played in about 4 hours, never got backed up or felt rushed. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating and the course was in great shape.

The areas around the green were lush and full, no bare spots where you ball always seems to find the mud with a clump of grass behind it. The greens rolled true and at a fair pace.

The only criticism I have to offer is the fairways were a little on the long and hairy but the rest of the course made up for it.

The course is always in really good to great shape, and layout is challenging. Greens ran very true. Icing on the cake is how awesome the staff usually is. The overall vibe at Mountain Branch is always solid.

Had a great outing here at mountain branch. Greens were very tricky and fast. Beautiful course . Definitely will come back

We just had an inch of rain come down for the past 2 days and I went out when it was 40 degrees and was impressed the way it held up. The bunkers were not completely shot and fairways I'm sure have seen better days but overall not to bad. Greens were dang near impeccable. The course was very difficult especially when you want to score around the greens with challenging slope changes. Off the tee it was pretty easy but just bring 2 lunches because you could be in for a long one.

Really nice layout. Course was wet due to recent rains but not terrible. Greens in good shape. Bunkers need a lot of work - that’s the one big negative.
