Great course. What took so long?
I always wanted to take the 90.min ride to play at Mountain Branch and so glad that I finally did. The course was not soggy at all and played remarkably well this early in the year despite recently aerated greens. There are many great holes on this course. On the back 9, holes 17 and 18 stood out as great and challenging. On the front the stretch of 4,5 and 6 are also tough and jaw dropping. For Philly golfers like me, do yourself a favor and take the trip to play Mountain Branch soon
Love the branch
Great course fairly challenging very well maintained ! Will be back
Great setting for a fun challenge
First time here, and cannot wait for the next chance to come back and try again. Course was in amazing shape for the time of year. Couple of very small dead patches here and there, but certainly to be expected and nothing that stopped us from having a great time. Greens were pretty fast and in fantastic shape. Price felt like a steal compared to what a lot of other courses were charging.
Overall, the course is a really fun design. Lots of unique holes - a few short par threes and fours, some long, testing par threes and fours. A couple of reachable par fives, and a couple of true three-shot tests. Except for a couple exceptions, no hole looks or feels the same as the next. And the greens, beyond being in great shape, were all unique shapes and had lots of undulations and shelves on them. It being our first time, it was tough to know where to "miss" some pins, but it made for some entertaining putts.
Over half the holes wind through the woods and are tree-lined in some fashion. Having played in the early winter with less vegetation, that made some of our errant shots findable, but I'd be interested to see what it's like when things are fully grown. But either way, what's nice about this place is that most of those wooded areas are marked as penalty areas, so if you do hit into it, you can drop where it went in instead of having to re-tee/re-hit because it's OB, which can be a pain at some similarly-designed courses.
In a nutshell - some really fun holes, little repetition, pretty views, and elevation changes mean you're constantly thinking, enjoying, and involved in every shot. Would absolutely play again.
Excellent day
Played the course with my father for his birthday. Course is gorgeous really nice conditioned. But you pay the price for that
The course is in excellent shape. Kudos to the superintendent and staff
great layout
Very nice course the only problem was cart path only it had a few blind holes with no diagrams or fairway markers and very few distance markers. But the course was in very good shape.
Beautiful course
All aspects of the course we're superior! It seemed pretty difficult to me but next time I will play from a closer set of tires.
