Great course. Greens are on the fast side and very true. Interesting layout, fair but challenging.
Great Value
First time playing this course and it was awesome! The layout and conditions were fantastic, a few bunkers need some love but all in all is great. Tee boxes, fairways, greens were all in great shape.Driving range/rage balls were pretty bad but I will play here again!
Nice course
The staff is very friendly. The course has a lot if bunkers which makes it a bit challenging, but the course is in good shape. They don't seem to try to create crowded conditions in the course, so the pace of play was good and steady. I plan to play this course again in a few weeks.
Horrible Pace of Play
Went out this past weekend to play. I really enjoy the course but the place of play has been horrible lately which included this past weekend. To start off, our tee time was 7:40. There was no starter to get things going. When we got to the first tee, we still had a group that had not yet tee’d off which put us 10 minutes behind to start. The group was then extremely slow the whole day to the point they were a full hole behind and caused a 2 group back up on the tee boxes on several occasions. There was no Ranger to push them or have them move up to the tee boxes they should have been playing for. Made for a long 5.5 hour day with no cart person which was posted would be out. After the long round, we were looking forward to having a good lunch only to find out the kitchen was closed. Disappointing as I do like that course.
Great course, but….
The course itself is good. Aside from some bad bunkers, and poor cart-path (on the front 9), the greens and fairways are in great shape and the course layout is also great.
Where Richland really suffers is the rest of the experience.
For example:
I played there on Father’s Day, which is arguably one of the busiest golf days of the year. Our tee time was 11:50, so about 1/2 way through the day.
-They ran out of carts, delaying our round 20 mins. -They ran out of range balls (the range could use some work also).
-They were not serving food and there was 1 bar tender.
-There was no beverage cart out on the course.
Our foursome easily would’ve spent an additional $100-$150 minimum had there been range balls, food, and beverages on the course. You’d think they’d be more prepared for a big golf holiday like Fathers’ day, but NOPE! It’s like this place is allergic to making money.
I live near the course and have a personal vested interest in seeing it do well, but other than the course itself, it just seems like they don’t care enough to make the rest of the experience memorable for their guests.
Please try harder Richland. Your community will support you…
Overall good experience
Overall the course was in good condition and the greens were extremely fast. I personally don’t mind fast greens but some of the pin positions were in questionable spots which made it a bit unfair comparative to the green speed. For the ultra skilled it’s likely not a problem but for the average rec player it was slightly frustrating. Overall the value for the course was on par.
Just curious, why do you think the course conditions at Richland Golf club are poor.
