Great course, but….
The course itself is good. Aside from some bad bunkers, and poor cart-path (on the front 9), the greens and fairways are in great shape and the course layout is also great.
Where Richland really suffers is the rest of the experience.
For example:
I played there on Father’s Day, which is arguably one of the busiest golf days of the year. Our tee time was 11:50, so about 1/2 way through the day.
-They ran out of carts, delaying our round 20 mins. -They ran out of range balls (the range could use some work also).
-They were not serving food and there was 1 bar tender.
-There was no beverage cart out on the course.
Our foursome easily would’ve spent an additional $100-$150 minimum had there been range balls, food, and beverages on the course. You’d think they’d be more prepared for a big golf holiday like Fathers’ day, but NOPE! It’s like this place is allergic to making money.
I live near the course and have a personal vested interest in seeing it do well, but other than the course itself, it just seems like they don’t care enough to make the rest of the experience memorable for their guests.
Please try harder Richland. Your community will support you…
Overall good experience
Overall the course was in good condition and the greens were extremely fast. I personally don’t mind fast greens but some of the pin positions were in questionable spots which made it a bit unfair comparative to the green speed. For the ultra skilled it’s likely not a problem but for the average rec player it was slightly frustrating. Overall the value for the course was on par.
Great bang for the buck.
This course has the potential to be a really great course if they made a minimal investment. The carts are old (at least one of them had duct tape on the seat) and some of the bunkers are just dirt. The clubhouse bathrooms are horrendous with the water to the urinals was not working and the tile literally worn down to the concrete because of cleats.
The actual course was in good shape in terms of tees, fairways and greens (not bunkers).
Another Great Experience
Great course layout. Great course condition. Being on hold to put a food order on the turn was downer. Eventually hung up the phone and never got food on the turn. Golf was great though. Need to pay a little more attention to the off-course stuff.
Best Course
Richland is the new standard. Great overall experience.
Overall not bad. Greens were good and fast. Most bunkers needed help.
Course needs alot of updating. Good price. Greens are extremely challenging
Course could be really nice. It needs alot of updating. Bunkers where meh and cart path has seem better days. Greens are some of the toughest I have seen and definitely will challenge even the best short game. Can beat the price.
Has gone down hill
Tee boxes were uneven and not maintained very well. Sand pits were like hitting out of gravel in areas. Played as a single no ranger in site for the foursomes that were taking forever and wouldn’t even acknowledge letting me play through. Then proceeded to complain when I drove around the hole when they were on the green. Stopped playing after 14 holes. Unacceptable pace without range supervision. Place used to be great years ago but the past couple times have been a waste of time and money. If you’re going to be a subpar course then you need to charge subpar prices. Rather spend the money at Maryland National
