Centennial Park Golf Course

This is not your typical 9 hole muni/parks district course. Centennial Park is a hidden gem, just 30 minutes south of Downtown Chicago. The pro shop staff was friendly and accommodating, and there's a full driving range with grass tees and a practice green. The course has a beautiful layout with a linksy feel and rolling mounds on both sides of the fairways. Unlike most small muni courses, there are 4 sets of dedicated tee boxes and a variety of different hole setups including 500+ yard par 5's, par 3's that require accurate long irons, and a few driveable par 4's that are anything but boring with elevation changes and bunkers guarding the greens for high risk/reward shots. The course is not the most walkable, and I would probably get a cart next time, but it's still a great value at $11 on a weekday afternoon. This course was an incredibly pleasant surprise, I may never play any Chicago Park District courses again after stumbling on Centennial Park.

Love playing here almost weekly or twice a week. Course is getting better, some fairways could use more TLC. Greens are the best slope and run you’ll see in the area for sure.

Very challenging course that’s for sure. Glad they took away a lot of marsh areas and easier to find your ball.

Plays like a links course being elevated with lots of winds and hills.

Drive for show and putt for dough.

Staff is very friendly and would rather pay at the pro shop for better prices as well.

Trust me and just pay when you get there other than the fake hotdeal and tax prices that golfnow gives.

Don’t knock this course unless you try it on a beautiful day overlooking the region

Played this afternoon, not a lot of golfers today. Course was wet due to rain, greens were in good shape, allowing wedge shots to stick and not run out. Fairways were in nice shape as well, cannot wait for the sun to dry out the course.

Great course. Phenomenal layout. Greens play fair. Good views. Putting and chipping green is huge and well tended. With such a great course, its crazy how cheap the prices are. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

It’s one of the nicest 9 hole courses I’ve golfed. The staff was wonderful. I would recommend this course. Looking forward to golfing it again.

You don't expect a nine hole course to be as challenging as this course is. It has many challenging holes with great elevation changes. It is a combination links/parkland design with areas of natural fescue grasses and woodlands. It is very scenic considering it was built over a prior landfill. Course conditioning is much better than most area municipal courses. Bent grass tees, fairways, and greens are well maintained. The driving range is one of the nicest in the area. An absolute bargain and hidden gem.
