Greentree Golf Club

About
Greentree Golf Club is located between Cincinnati and Dayton, situated in a completely rural area with not a road or house in sight. The layout spreads across gently rolling hills dotted with mature trees. The scenery is made even more idyllic by the deer that often roam the golf course. The nine-hole layout plays like a full-length course with tough par 5s and tricky par 3s. Trees line the fairways and there are a few strategically placed bunkers. It's a golf course that will have you using all the clubs in your bag. When played twice, Greentree Golf Club stands up to any of the area's 18-hole courses. The layout is gentle enough for beginners but there are enough risk-reward opportunities for more advanced players to still have a fun round.

Too slow
This is a 9-hole course. We played 18, which means you replay the same 9. Other twosomes were doing the same. For the first 9, we joined a twosome that was making the turn. It was extremely slow - had to wait on every tee box and some shots in between. It took almost 3 hours for the first nine - completely unacceptable. After that, we were by ourselves and the course emptied out and we cruised around in a little over 1.5 hours. They needed to have a ranger keeping up the pace of play, and probably needed to group twosomes into foursomes (not sure if that speeds things up or not). They maybe also need to space out the tee times to allow for groups making the turn instead of getting a bottleneck on #1.
Great Course for Beginner Golfers
For a beginner golfer like me, this is a great course to improve my game but still have a good chance at playing "bogey" golf. Fairways are wide and forgiving for hooks or slices off the tee-box. Course still has some challenging holes to it, so it would be worth playing for intermediate type players. Course was well maintained and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. I will definitely continue to play this course.
Don't play on the week-end
I like this course but don't try to play 18 here as they only have 9 holes and when you make the turn it is always backed up, especially on the weekend. Staff was very pleasant. Not much in the way of food in the clubhouse (hot dogs).
Nice greens rough tee boxes
Great staff
Nice layout
Coarse does not drain well avoid if it's been rainy
Good to play if your short on time
Tricky Layout...great staff and clubhouse.
I play greentree often. It's 9 holes and we just play it twice. The best thing about the course is the layout. There are several challenging holes , especially 2 and 9. The course needs cart paths between holes as ruts are starting to form and the bunkers usually have some weeds in them and are not raked/prepped. GolfNow has great deals for tee times...that's why I play there.
Nice place...
Had driven by this place many times, but never stopped in. Have played it a couple times since and it's truly a great track for just a former farm that was replaced with a golf course running thru it. This is a great place for beginners to seniors. Not a large crowd, so one can move around in a timely manner. We played 9 holes in one hour and 15 minutes The back 9 took longer, as a group in front of us were not privy to the rules of allowing faster groups to play thru. We were a twosome and they had four players that played from all directions of the tee. We know...we watched EVERY shot!
Nice Little 9 Hole Course
I like playing at Greentree. The course is conveniently located and fairly inexpensive. I am a horrible golfer... at least at the moment, so playing through twice for 18 gives for a chance at improvement. The second hole is by fair the most tricky. But I like playing there. Definitely a place to start playing, not too intimidating, and still a lot of fun.
greens good
course in good condition.other golfers moved along, no long waits
worth the price
Nice course, greens and fairways are in great shape. trying to figure out where the next tee a little confusing and drive was a challenge due to ruts and uneven ground. Otherwise would be near perfect course for a mid to high handicapper.
Diamond in the rough
This is the first time I played greentree, and I have to say I am extremely impressed. I think I've found my new favorite. Great pricing, very well maintained course.
Severe drainage issue
The course seems to be overly wet everytime I have whent. The cart path will often beat you to death with all of the ruts from water erosion. Other than that it is a fun challenging course.
Slow Play
Despite a mid morning tee time, the backup of three groups on the first tee concerned me. Couple this with a group coming off the 9th hole wanting to play through and it was a mess to start the day. It was an excruciatingly slow pace. However this backup has not been my experience in previous visits. If I had been a first timer I probably would not return. Overall the course was in decent condition and a challenging layout.
This is a 9 hole course.
The course is pretty average, nothing really difficult. The 2nd hole is a par 5 that doglegs through around a narrow fairway flanked by trees on both sides. Unless you can hit an accurate high draw, your 1st shot needs to be a lay up. Never thought I would be laying up with my tee shot on a par 5. They could do a better job of scheduling tee times. The tee box was backed up when we made the turn to replay the course.
A Rural Beauty
Coming from someone who lives close to the city, I never knew how beautiful a country course could be. This course is surrounded by cornfields. It's scenic, quiet, not crowded, and relaxing. Would definitely recommend especially if you are used to playing on small, noisy courses in the city.
Good Value
Course was in reasonably good condition. Moderately challenging. Fairways watered, but fairly hard. Cart paths only around tees. Scenic setting.
Decent Layout
Course has a decent layout...fairways were rough and cartpaths were even rougher...Greens were the best part of the course...even with the recent rains the fairways were dry and hard...I felt like I was at a low budget facility...not much scenery or landscaping...kinda built around a Corn Farm...Probably wont ever go back.
Nice layout
I liked the course a lot. It is a little tight in some areas, but not overly so. Definitely a good course for anyone.
Not for me!!
I was looking forward to a first time at a new course. Course is forgiving for the most part. Grass was a little high, but overall satisfied with course until my friend and I were met by the staff after hole eight... The gentleman kindly stated that he was ordered to shut the course down at 730 because of the rain even though it was a beautiful evening. I asked if I would be given a credit and was offered a dollar credit. I drove 40 miles to play this course and I usually like to finish a game before leaving. Great course unless you want to actually finish a game.
Ahhhhhh Greentrees
So, if you have never played Greentrees, bring balls. I will say the course is never in plush shape, but it's decent. They are right next to shaker run and normally you can golf here for about a 1/4 or 1/3 the price of shaker, and pretty much get out anytime, and pace of play is generally good. Greentrees is only a 9 hole course, but man I will tell you, it's a cool layout. When my buddies and I play 18, we alternate between white tees and blue tees. Hole 2 and hole 9, WOW! What a couple of great holes. Anyways, overall, not a TPC or resort quality course, but friendly, fun to play, no hassle day of golf is what you will get.

Good Value for quick round.
Tight course. Corn Feilds line several holes. The Par 5's are challenging with the dog legs and blind shots. Hole 9 requires a huge tee shot over tall trees which protect both the right and left sides of the fairway. You will be blocked out from reaching the green unless you can hit it 270 straight.
