Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Pines Course
About
The Pines Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood. The Links and the Ridge are the other two. The courses can be played individually or as three different 18-hole combinations. The Pines Course is named after the mature, tree-covered landscape. It and the Ridge Course make up the original layout at Eagle Ridge G.C. They were built over a sand and gravel quarry that was used to help build the Garden State Parkway in the late 40s. The unique and undulating topography is a result of this. The towering pinelands lend a sheltered feel to the course as well as a challenging element to the game. There are also strategically placed bunkers that come into play along the greensides.

Brian is horrible
After wanting to play ER for a while now i finally got out with 2 buddies. We all show up at different times and are assigned different carts. Weren’t sure if it was a 1 rider per cart rule due to COVID, whatever. Go to the range and putting green. As I’m putting my friends are already at the first tee waiting for me to drive up, as I’m doing that the starter “Brian” waves me down and yells “stop stop stop!” “You guys can’t all be singles in carts you have to pair up!” Before we can even say anything he begins aggressively unstrapping my bag from my cart and walking it from the starters booth to the 1st tee which is easily 40 feet lol. And says “unless you want to pay $22 for an extra cart which I doubt!” So as I’m watching this man walk my bag away from me without even asking me anything, I tell him to put my bag back on my cart because I’ll gladly pay the $22. I walk out of the pro shop towards him with the receipt for the cart and he brushes me away and says “I don’t need to see that!” So I tell him that next time he should ask the paying customer what they would rather do in that situation BEFORE hastily moving their bag. He asked if I’m giving him advice and I say yes I am. Then he tells me that I should “see the started before driving to the first tee! That’s how golf works!” As if I wasnt, and as if I don’t know. Terrible attitude. The man is miserable. Brian if you’re reading this just end it. You know what I’m talking about. Just do it bud.
Other than that the course is beautiful. Oh and when I checked in the woman at the office to the left of the door that brings you into the pro shop, literally rolled her eyes because she had to come to the desk to check me in.
So the course is very well kept, super fun and challenging, beautiful holes and views from tee boxes, not the truest but very very good greens, wild grass coming out of and around bunkers. Kinda reminded me of twisted dunes. Rugged but beautifully maintained. The golf is GREAT. Staff is uninviting and miserable. Especially Brian.
Tough but in excellent shape
Course was in excellent condition. Nice layout as well. Would definitely play it again.
Outstanding
Course was immaculate. T boxes fairways and greens all well maintained. Everyone nice to deal with from pro shop guy to starter. Good people.
Great, but tough course
Not an easy course, but fantastic nonetheless. Staff was friendly, wasn’t too expensive, course was in perfect condition.
Wow
A very tough course. Conditions were perfect. Very tight fairways. Greens rolled true. A lot of fun. A real challenge. . Much harder than BallyOwen.
Not worth money
Worst driving range of courses $75+.
Saw 3 rangers yet group in front of us had 3 open holes.
Greens in good shape.
Carts new and outstanding.
3 9’s with limited signs nor help at turn.
Mostly place for 20-35 year olds to drink heavily, smoke cigars and yell all over course with constant F-bombs.
Plenty of other courses better at half the price.
Spectacular Day
Course is in excellent condition. Excellent pace of play—3 hour 30 minute round.

Slooooooow play
Nice course and layout. Driving range is showing its age. New carts and great staff. We left after 13 holes because we had already been out there for 4 hours and couldn’t take it any longer.
It's a Must
Do not miss this course when in the area.
It's a real shore course, beautiful scene, real greens and bunkers. She's as tough as she is good looking.
Excellent conditions, excellent pace, excellent value
My foursome was looking forward to playing here for the first time and it was worth the wait. The course was in excellent condition. The bunkers were being raked as we played, we were the first tee time, there wasn’t any rakes to fix any play out of them but at least you had a chance of a good lie in them. The greens were fast with subtle breaks from the grain rather than the larger breaks that looked like was in them. The fairways were lush and the rough was thick.
