Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Pines Course
About
The Pines Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood. The Links and the Ridge are the other two. The courses can be played individually or as three different 18-hole combinations. The Pines Course is named after the mature, tree-covered landscape. It and the Ridge Course make up the original layout at Eagle Ridge G.C. They were built over a sand and gravel quarry that was used to help build the Garden State Parkway in the late 40s. The unique and undulating topography is a result of this. The towering pinelands lend a sheltered feel to the course as well as a challenging element to the game. There are also strategically placed bunkers that come into play along the greensides.

this course looks professional
Absolutely beautiful course! The greens were spot on and the pace of play was fast. 18 holes in 3 1/2 hrs is almost unheard-of. I'd recommend this course to anyone.
great time
Wonderful time. 18 holes quick to play
Great linch
GN GREAT SERVICE
Paired with 2 other golfers very congenial and staff did everything to make the round enjoyable from the course to the cafe.
great golf course
I always like to play Eagle Ridge golf course, the staff is friendly the golf course is in great condition and very challenging.
extremely impressive
Probably one of the nicest coarses I have played on besides Augusta
Real nice course and a great value
Course was in great condition and played very well. Fairways are tight and demand accurate drives to score well. Greens are challenging and in good shape. The ability to mix and match the various 9 hole layouts gives you many different options. The staff was very nice and it was easy to book a decent tee time on a Saturday using Golf Now. Overall it was a very good value at $56 for the round including a cart.
This course has a lot of great holes.
For the first time I had a great time. I will definitely go back if I get a chance. It was worth the money.
Worth playing
Course is nice and pace of play was fine. Greens still had not fully healed since last aeration so they were a little rough. Putting was a challenge because of this.
Overall, a very nice course and the staff was great.
Food and service at the halfway house was excellent.
An interesting round
Really enjoyed the course; fairways and tees in good condition for this time of year, staff very friendly and helpful, practice area is one of the best in the area. On this day the greens were slow and ruddy because of recent aeration and sanding- expected at this time of year. Another season-related comment is that there are no filled water stations nor bathroom facilities available yet.
The "Links" course (newest 9 hole layout) is particularly difficult and plays longer than you expect because of the wind really becomes a factor. The par 3's can be very tough if you miss the green short. Hole #24 is a real challenge; long to an elevated green, very narrow fairway and slopping towards the deep rough on the left, and, at least on this day, chart path only, so you wind up do a lot of climbing. Also, there are several par 4's requiring blind or obstructed tee shots. There are targets in the distance, but nobody tells you about them (one is a small painted target, the other is a large rock.
Held up well after along winter
Considering the weather was wet and cold, and spring in NJ has forgotten to show, the course was in great shape. The staff was helpful and friendly, be careful when traveling to course on the parkway the exit for RT 70 has changed. If you miss it, you will have to travel south about 6 miles before you can get off or turn around.
One if the best courses I played
i really like this course, it's one of the best courses I have ever played in Metro
eye appeal.
a course that stands out. Didn't get to play the Links;
closed during weekdays.
...spent time on every hole repairing divots & ball marks.
For the price I paid, I'm definitely going back
For the price I paid for to play at Eagle Ridge golf course was worth every penny. $20 after taxes with cart couldn't be beat and it was a last minute booking through Golfnow and if you haven't used them. I suggest that you do in your future rounds.
I played Ridge/Pines were in great shape with cart path only rules. That didn't matter since everyone was spread far enough that overlapping wasn't an issue and waiting at tee boxes were rare.
The greens were in excellent shape and the fairways were decent with a few mushy areas due to heavy rain from the last few days. The 10th hole fairway on Pines was extremely mushy. I hit a pushed drive into the fairway and where I thought I landed. I couldn't find it. I looked for 5 minutes and concluded that my ball drove into the fairway because while looking. My shoes were squishing on the fairway and water would rise.
Overall I would highly recommend this course for their excellent service and great golf course. Thanks to the pro shop crew and starter, I was able to finish my round in 3 hours and 30 minutes. That's with pairing with another golfer and cart path only.
Winter golf
Eagle Ridge is always enjoyable. They have a number of interesting holes which are challenging. Of their three nines we played Pines and Links. Links is my favorite. The course was in decent shape considering the time of year. The greens were true although ruffed up from the season. The golf carts were struggling to make it around the course. We switched out after nine holes and they replaced them with ones without windshields. Not good in this weather. Overall a good experience.
the new 9 very challenging
played the new 9 for the first time, very challenging, very scenic, believe i played the pines for the 2nd 9, much tighter, definitely a challenging course, great deal on golf now,
27 hole hidden gem
Played in mid november. Our only complaint was the 5 hour round. The rangers did not push groups to keep up. We waited over every shot.
nice course!!!!!!!
course well maintained a lot of different looks very nice greens are very nice fast and undulating challenging played all three ridge pine and links liked all three top notch in my opinion will play again little ride to get there but its worth it
Eagle Ridge
One of my favorite courses to play & got a great last minute deal from GolfNow.
Great Day of Golf!
Got there a little early and went right out. Course was in excellent condition. Had played here twice before and got to play the ridge course for first time. Caught up with a twosome on the pines course on the forth hole. Would of been great if they had me play through then but they finally let me pass on the 8th hole. I wasn't in a hurry but you can only play so slow. Pro shop had a buy one get one on shirts that were reasonably priced. Looking forward to playing again next year.
