Once home to one of the world's largest herds of Jersey dairy cattle, the site is now the Jersey Meadow Golf Course. The course has evolved and changed dramatically over the years, including a major renovation in 2004 that replaced all the greens with Bermuda grass. The layout is routed through groves of mature oaks, providing a secluded feel to most of the holes. The golf course has a classic design that is still a fair test even by modern standards. Water comes into play throughout in the form of ponds, lakes, and winding creeks that weave through the holes. The 14th is a particularly memorable water hole with a creek all along the left side leading to the island green. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and the greens have subtle but tricky contours.

Fun course to play

Great course to play. Especially if you're a new to intermediate golfer. They are currently re-doing three of the holes. Only reason for a 3 on course condition. Other than that it's in good shape.

Good course, bad weather conditions

We normally enjoy playing this course that has challenges for intermediate to good golfers but is not too long for beginners like some in my family. It had been raining the day before we played and the entire time we played 8 of the 18 holes we had planned. By phone and in person we were told the course did not have too much water on it ... but we were the only ones who attempted to play. In my opinion, the course should have been closed (and we could and would have applied for a refund or raincheck!). Staff was friendly, but I think this was not a good decision on their part.

Nicer than Expected

First time playing JV course today. Everything I heard was awful greens and overall bad course conditions. The greens are definitely slow but not many patches on them. There is some construction going on but the fairways were much better than I expected and due to said construction they are applying discounts when you arrive to the clubhouse. Staff is friendly and very apologetic for the 6th and 7th holes being redone. I’ll be back, maybe not until the fall but curious to see what it’s like when they’re done landscaping. Pace of play is much better than nearby Windrose or Cypresswood.

Course is in pretty good shape, although several holes are under reconstruction and unplayable. No offer to replay additional holes to equal a full 18 was very disappointing. When all renovations are done, this will be a great course.

Staff.

My friend forgot his golf shirt and had to run to store and get another one which made us late on our tee time. The staff was super cool and very professional and as embarrassed as we were the staff were very welcoming and assured us that it's wasn't a big deal. We go here often as there is a discount because of a couple holes being worked on. The carts are awesome with GPS! I would definitely recommend this place to others .

Under Repair

We booked this course thinking it was a good price and the Time of day would be colder than playing at our normal 2pm tee time.

No body told us anything about that two holes where under repair and we could only play 16 holes. Also two of the holes where temporary holes and not good.

A lot of the Greens are under repair.

This information should be provided to us at the time we booked.

So be aware!

Inconsistent/Poor greens

As you can read in the recent reviews of the course, there are 2 holes that are closed (holes 5 and 6) and hole 7 (par 5) is reduced to a par 3. The greens are inconsistent, bumpy, missing spots, slow, etc... If having a good putting surface is important then you may want to avoid this course at this time. Fairways are alright, but wet. Course is still pretty saturated.

Meandering in the Meadow

Played Jersey Meadow for the first time today.

Surprisingly, despite all of the recent rain here in Texas the course has drained well. The fairways are in fantastic shape-almost virginal. The greens however are mediocre with a lot of dried-out or rotted areas. That was one.of the big disappointments today. In addition, 2 holes were closed due to a construction project involving the state of Texas, and a Par 5 was shortened to a Par 3. These changes were very disappointing. I don't remember Golf Now mentioning these issues when I booked my round; otherwise I may have gone elsewhere. The construction work was reflected in the discounted fees. The pace of play was excellent. Teed-off at 12:30 and finished by 3:20 pm. If you don't mind the issues described above and you only pay a reasonable amount ($20-$27), then "meandering at the Meadows" may be for you!

This course is a disaster.

If I could give this course 0 stars I would. I am very disappointed in what has come to this course. I used to love this course and now it’s horrible. The greens are destroyed with diverts and massive patches of grass spread out ever foot. Not maintained at all. Hole 5 & 6 are un playable and they still charge $40 for a game. The blue tee offs are scattered all over the place with the white tee’s. Par 5’s are turned into par 3’s. Biggest waste of money. Do not waste your time here for another year or so until this gets fixed.

Worst course I’ve played in my entire life

I went here a few months ago and the course was immaculate. Came back today and every aspect of the course from the condition to staff was terrible. I asked for a refund after 9 because of the atrocious condition. I am not even sure why this course is open. Oh and I forgot to mention they had 3 holes closed.

Will NEVER be back.
