Jersey Meadow Golf Course
About
Once home to one of the world's largest herds of Jersey dairy cattle, the site is now the Jersey Meadow Golf Course. The course has evolved and changed dramatically over the years, including a major renovation in 2004 that replaced all the greens with Bermuda grass. The layout is routed through groves of mature oaks, providing a secluded feel to most of the holes. The golf course has a classic design that is still a fair test even by modern standards. Water comes into play throughout in the form of ponds, lakes, and winding creeks that weave through the holes. The 14th is a particularly memorable water hole with a creek all along the left side leading to the island green. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and the greens have subtle but tricky contours.

Memorial Day
Great to see the course open since the severe rain. The course itself was in good condition.
Sunday before the rain!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Greens had been plugged but the course was in good shape with all the rain. I enjoy going there!
Fast greens and great times!
Found this little gem on my most recent trip to Houston and can say I will definitely be back. Greens were slick and joy to put on. Course conditions were perfect from tee to green and the price to play was extremely reasonable making this one of the best bargains in Houston.
Staff was extremely friendly and pace of play was just over 3 hours which was great. We never felt rushed or pressured from other groups.
Also, if you're looking for a great instructor I highly recommend Lynn Parker's (Head Pro/GM) services. Lynn has been around golf her entire life learning the game from greats like Jackie Burke Jr. and studying the fundamentals of Ben Hogan. I've played for many years and taken lessons from numerous Top 100 instructors and can say Lynn's swing advice for me was not only simple but eye opening. I'm hitting it the best I ever have as a result.
jersey meadow
staff was friendly and helpful as it was first time on this course. they provided us with a course map with yardage markers. course was well keep. lots of water if your a high handicapper bring lots of balls
Played this course 50 years ago
I played this course with my Dad 50 years ago. He was teaching me how to play. My has this course changed. The greens are enormous and very tricky to read. This is a very good golf course with challenging holes that you must think through before hitting your shot.
good value for $20
2 of us teed off at noon on a weekday and finished in less than 4 hours. Greens were in very good shape though they were slower than nearby courses like Houston National and Cypress Lakes. Bunkers close to the greens were very wet on several holes despite no rain in a week. Somebody needs to adjust the sprinklers.
crowded, bumpy greens
the fairways are so close that errant strikes will end up on your fairway frequently. many slow players will cause congestion from hole/fairway/tee-box. greens have variety of grass growing on them.
slow pace
There was a lot of waiting between holes to play. Marshall came around a few times, but still no relief.
Many hidden lakes, flooded after rain
When got a hot deal of $30, after i booked it went down to $24, felt i was cheated. When i arrived i know why the price came down, we only can ride the cart paths and they were flooded, the fairways mostly wet after a big rain a day before so not many people played. Also the course designed in an area where many electric towers are standing and so the electricity transfering cables are crossing several fairways.
Nice greens
It was extremely hot when we played. Despite the August heat the greens were in good shape.
We enjoyed playing this course and will probably play again, probably when it is cooler.
Good Value
I've played Jersey Meadows many times. For it being August 1st, the course was in the best condition that I have ever seen coming out of summer. The 2 inches of rain the night before made the balls really stick on approach.
Slow Play
The course was in excellent condition. I love Bermuda fairways with a little give. However because of the lack of a marshal and the exceptional slow play of 3 foursomes ahead of our group, we had to skip several holes to keep from having to spend 6 hours playing a round of golf
Muni with several challenging holes
Definitely has the feel and ambiance of a muni, but exhibited reasonably good course conditions. Several holes were quite challenging compared with the course as a whole. Two of the par 3s require excellently struck 180 yard shots. Several of the par 4s require well placed lay up drives. Clientele generally dressed and behaved in a manner respectful to the game and exhibited good golf etiquette.
All good
Course greens were much better than I remembered. Ladies tees are still hard to get tee into, that hasn't changed. Overall, really good condition, fun to play.
Very good value
Course was in very good condition , greens roped true and fairways lush. Moved around. In fast pace. Excellent value.
Good Greens
I've played this course a few times and the condition of the greens has varied. On this day they were in good condition. The course has a few challenges, but the single obstacle I kept finding was the enormous group of power lines that cross the course. My ball managed to hit them 3 times.
Narrow fairways
The course is tight and we had to wait several times for other that had crossed over into our fairway to move. There is plenty of water hazards on the course to avoid as well. The greens looked good, but seemed slow.
Hidden value
The greens are ALWAYS plush, usually soft and fast. The fairways are usually in great shape. The distance markers are accurate. I usually play whites but played blues today, added a little extra challenge on a few holes.
Great course
Will play here again. The greens are challenged but still fun
