Very fun course in a beautiful mountain setting.
I played a round with my wife on this beautiful course at Copper Mountain. She especially appreciated the advantage from the women's tees on several of the holes. The holes are varied and quite interesting. Practice facilities leave much to be desired, but the course condition was the best it's ever been. They use gas powered carts, which can be noisy and smelly. Many golfers were walking the course.
Beautiful views
Note: My wife and I played the course on Monday, Sept. 2. We got rained out at the 14th hole and did not complete the round. I called and cancelled the round that I mistakenly had scheduled for Sept. 3 as I did not realize that I had scrolled down too far to Sept. 3 and I did not realize that I scheduled for Sept. 3 when I intended to schedule for Sept. 2. I called to cancel shortly after I realized my mistake and a nice lady said that she would cancel the Sept. 3 round. We were not in the area as we left to return home on Sept. 3. Although we did get rained out on Monday, Sept. 2, we enjoyed playing Copper Mountain.
Good course for short hitters
It was cart path only for the entire 18 holes the day we played so it made for extra work to get to your ball and determine what your yardage was for the next shot. Carts do not have GPS on them anyway, so unless you have your own range finder, most of the yardage determination was guess work.
Pro shop didn't open until 8 AM, and driving range was quite a distance from the first tee box, and you had to hit off of mats onto a graveled parking out facility with orange cones indicating the different distances you were hitting the ball. Practice putting green near the first tee box was small and not in very good shape.
As indicated in summary statement, course is very suitable to those who do not hit the ball a long ways, but for those that do, some of the short par 4 holes could be reachable with a long drive.
First impression, wasn't as favorable, but as the round went on, the course sort of "grows" on you, and like any course, if you play well and shoot a good score, then you tend to like the golf course that much more. I wouldn't necessarily rush back to play again with the number of other golf courses to try out first, but would consider it again if there's a good discounted green fee being offered. You do get a chit for a free beverage after the round at the nearby restaurant/bar facility.
Personnel that work the course were all very friendly and helpful.
Very sporty and entertaining golf course
We thoroughly enjoyed our golf experience at Copper, great weather and a fun day indeed.
greens
although many mountain courses struggle with conditions of the greens; copper creeks were real rough. it was difficult to get a true roll.
Mountain golf at good price
Staff very pleasant & helpful.
Front 9 plays mostly on flats w/water. Back 9 plays in mountains.
Course generally in good condition. Some blind shots. Greens can be overly fast when dried out. Even with 10min tee times course plays slow. Members usually take up morning tee times. Expect 5 hr round on weekends.
Limited practice facilities. Reasonable green fees in afternoon & on GolfNow
Great value vs. other courses in area.
Nice variety of hole layouts to test all aspects of your game. Greens fees + cart an excellent value. Hot specials are fabulous.
Fun to play at 9600 feet above sea level.
Sporty course
We quit after nine because of the weather. We did get a rain check for nine.
High altitude fun
I like to play this course about once a month. The highest tee box in North America means your ball travels farther, but be careful because most of the fairways are pretty narrow and there is not much rough to speak of. The greens are never in the greatest of shape but the ball still rolls well. Weather is always a factor in Colorado, especially if you play twilight cheap times like I do, I have been rained on (read "lightninged on") more than half of my rounds here. But the views and scenery are spectacular and make playing on this course all the more worthwhile.
Fun but challenging course
Have played Copper Creek several times over the last 5-6 years. The course conditions are probably the best this year. Only one green that was not in great shape. Fun from the gold tees with plenty of different challenges. The only negative is that with 3 par 4's that are reachable, it tends to get backed up. A good value compared to the cost of some other mountain courses.
Highest tee box in North America great short course
The course is short, par 69, but it's a good, challenging course for the value. Plenty of rental clubs if you are planning a trip. I'd highly recommend a round and their bloody Mary.
Beautiful views of mountains and good golf!
Very pretty course on Copper Mountain. greens in good shape, but practice green lacking.
SHORT COURSE WITH INSTERING HOLES
ONE OF THE EASER COURSES IN SUMMIT COUNTY. DRIVING RANGE IN PARKING LOT, LITTLE STRANGE. GREEN WERE OK , BUT NOT THE BEST, BIT FOR THE PRICE, IT WAS A GOOD DEAL.
This course is not up to par is in need of help bad!!!!
There are better golf courses in Denver that the city runs !!!
Don't waste your time or money ..... They need to take some of that winter lift ticket money and re invest in thier golf course...greens were so inconsistent and non existent holes have been shorten ... Due to poor maintance .... Worst course in the mountains ..... I play 3 times a week everywhere .... Copper creek get your act together!!!!
Maintained well, narrow fairways, nice view, fee too high.
Pro: Course maintained well. Challenging for those with less control, deceptions on this mountain course makes play interesting if you like surprises, green difficulty-above average, views are nice, staff friendly.
Cons: Compared to the Vail Golf course, not worth the additional $20 fee we paid. Fairways are very narrow, range is located in the parking lot with hitting onto pavement, putting green in poor condition and gives no indication of greens on the course.
Felt this course was average at best...
Most fairways fairly tight-you can leave the driver at home! Some greens are pretty rough. Nice restaurant/bar. Pace of play was dreadful ( 4hrs 45 mins) Have played much better courses for the money.
Mountain challenges
The course is fairly short, but provides plenty of challenges with hills and narrow fairways. Lots of water features force the player to place the ball precisely, or be in trouble! This is a beautiful mountain course!
The course needs attention. We played the course in late June and the greens were slow and bumpy.
Overall the course is short. Scenic views but the course needs attention. The beverage cart was around frequently. The course plays short even from the back tees. At here are other courses nearby at a comparable rate.
Could be alot better with proper care and maintenance
Greens very long and bumby, badly in need of rolling and proper mowing. Temporary on 13th not mowed, just a white circle. Fairways slightly better but with ruts and bumbs throughout.
