About
What's the best way to describe EagleVail Golf Club? A river golf course? A mountain golf course? Actually, it's a little bit of both. It's also a pretty golf course ... and pretty tough. The 18-hole Bruce Devlin and Roger von Hagge design, which opened in 1974, isn't a long golf course by today's standards, but there isn't a lot of room for error. The only true mountain design for a public golf course in the Vail Valley places a high priority on shot placement, and you should as well if you want to have a good score. The tee shot at the par-5 first hole is elevated about 75 feet, there's the red barn at No. 2 (part of the area's agricultural heritage) and there are plenty of elevation changes and breathtaking views as you make your way around. But no matter what you call EagleVail Golf Club, chances are you'll be calling for another tee time once you've played there.

Just OK
They're drunk for what they charge to play this thing...almost $200 is laughable for this course. It should be a $50-$60 course. I get the sense most people playing are locals and have access to heavily discounted memberships or other incentives.
You can play Vail golf club for cheaper than this thing, and while neither course is stellar, Vail is in Vail...surrounded by $15 million homes.
Hokey
This course has good views. The staff is great. The course does not fit what I look for. Many holes are hokey...can't hot a normal shot. The number 1 handicap hole is short..hit a perfect drive, was blocked by tree to green..Green is sloped all over. Hit 2 great shots and made par. Too many dogleg..too many townhouses to worry about. I want scenic without houses. Little short goofy par 3s. Just too weird for me. Go somewhere else if you want to play golf for real. If you want a goony golf experience go here. May just be personal preference.
Better options in the area
Some of the holes are "tricked up". I'd play Breckenridge, Raven or Vail before of play here.

We enjoyed this course very much. Great views and very nice course. This was a better course than The River at Keystone and was about 1/3 the cost

Must play if in Vail Valley
I love this course. It's a "must play" for my family every summer we are in the valley. The layout is challenging for all levels of golfers and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
True mountain golf experience
Visiting from Texas. Was amazed by the course condition! Excellent shape with panoramic views! A must play when We return to the Vail valley!
