About
From the tips, Kings Creek can play particularly tough because of the prevailing winds off the shores of Cedar Creek Lake. However, on calm days this course can be had, since the layout is fairly basic and features water on only six holes. In the late 1980s, the course became known for its improving condition, and that reputation has held true over the years.
The front nine is shorter and a little easier than the front, its toughest hole being the 200 -yard No. 3 over water. No. 14 typifies the longer back: a 576-yard marathon with water on either side of the fairway.
Getting there : From Dallas, take I-175 south, then turn right on Hwy. 274. The course is 2 miles down the road.

I live north of Dallas and this is my go to course, mainly because of pace of play. The people are very friendly also.
Rough
If you want to get out and swing some clubs without keeping score. Play here. Greens were bad. Whole course needs to be rolled. No signs for direction.
Decent to play
Played this course full 18 on our second time out. The front nine is good but the back nine is where it gets pretty rough (course conditions). Couple holes on the back 9 had terrible fairways (ground cracking, very bumpy). I am not a good golfer by any means but if you just need somewhere to play it is ok. Lots of water on the back but the front is not bad at all! Good range ball prices for practice.

KCCC
This is a local course for those in and around Kemp. Although I did enjoy playing here, it is in need of some maintenance. They were mowing while I was there and it appears they are trying to make a go of it. The layout is unique and water is everywhere. Some fairways were in ok shape and others needed mowing and were extremely bumpy. Most of the greens were ok with a few in good shape. I will not play this course again, but I do recommend it if you haven't played it. You can catch a glimpse of the lake from the front 9.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COURSE
If you are actually looking to play golf do not go to this course. Many times standing on the tee box I didn’t know where to hit my ball because the fairways have high grass and weeds all throughout the course. Greens look good from a far but do not roll and the ball bounces everywhere. This course is by far the worst course I played

Slicing and hooking not welcome
Take advantage of the course on the front nine. The back nine is more difficult and can be disheartening, especially if your ball flight is not straight. On the back nine, water factors into several holes, sometimes to the left and to the right.

This course is for locals
Save ur money and time unless ur just bored and want to practice tee to green shots. Not for serious golfers or keeping scores. My apologies to the friendly staff. The course is just not very good at all. This is a place for locals to get out and just putt around.

2nd worst greens ever
I've played this course a lot over the years. Like any course, it has highs and lows but it seems they are at an all time low. The greens are more dirt than grass until the final 4 holes. They were already bumpy but now they are ridiculous. By looks, they haven't been kept up with in years. Very disappointed that they let them get this bad. I love the course, love the people, but the course conditions are terrible. I guess when you have other sources of income (pool tournaments, weddings,/parties) that the golf course just takes a back seat. It's a great place if you don't care about your score or putting.

Enjoyed the round
Played 18 in record time. Staff was great. Winter greens and fairways, greens were bumpy. For the price it was well worth it.
Great Day if Golf
Course wasn’t crowded which was a plus. I have been here several times when the pace the Marshall wanted you to play at was not reasonable. If you aren’t a member and want to play 18 holes get there at the earliest tee time possible or if you just want to play 9 getting there around 3:30 will work for you. Staff is always super nice. The course has a lot of water so bring a few extra balls. Overall it usually works out to be a good day.
