About
Built along Lake Travis in 1971, Point Venture was the first course in Leander, but has been overshadowed since the opening of Crystal Falls. The course has 9 holes that meander through a residential development and is loaded with dogleg holes and mature trees.
Jimmy Demaret designed the course, and his layout features two nasty par 5s. The best hole on the course is No. 7–a scenic hole that starts from an elevated tee box and plays downhill to a green surrounded by a lake.
Getting there : From I-35, exit FM 1431 and drive west approximately 25 miles to Lago Vista. Turn left on Lohman Ford Rd. and drive 8 miles to the Point Venture guard gate.

Nice course for a new player
First time on this course. Well maintained. Staff was helpful and friendly. I was with my wife who is a very new golfer. This course was nice with no real challenges (water or bunker). Would be nice if they had sandwiches in the club, but no. Just bring something along with you.
Fun to play!
I always enjoy playing Pt. Venture. Fairways and greens in nice shape. Friendly staff and nice clubhouse.
Nice 9 Hole Course
Nice 9 hole course. Fairways, greens, and tee boxes were all well kept and green (even with the extended hot weather this summer, kudos to the ground crew!). Pro shop and grill/bar staff were very accommodating. Will definitely play there again.

Scenic with Good Variety
Nice variety of long, medium and short holes with no bunkers or water hazards. Beautiful setting with deers frolicking around, nice backyards and an occasional lake view. Would repeat.
Been awhile
It was years ago since I had played at Pt Venture, it has changed a lot. The houses throughout the course along with the vast improvements into the clubhouse. I was pleasantly pleased with what the management has since done to this course.
Golf
Maybe I didn’t pay enough attention but thought I booked a 18 course. Greens were in bad shape and club house no food available after the round
Course is fun to play
Course was convenient to where we were staying on vacation. Old course with fairways and greens in average condition. I was able to play a quick, comfortable round. Staff was friendly as well. Enjoyed the round. Will likely play there it again before returning home.
Fun 9 holes with great bar patio
We love playing this course then hanging out at the Caddie Shack afterwards. Friendly staff and great patio!

Hidden gem
Great course for a beginner golfer who doesnt want to spend to much money while learning to play.
