Formerly known as Arrowhead Country Club, Pinnacle opened in 1970 as a 9-hole track nestled on the cozy banks of Cedar Creek Lake. Tough times descended and the course was shut down before reopening with an additional nine and new ownership in the 1980s.

Dallas’ eastward growth has turned many onto the pleasant, rural atmosphere at Pinnacle Golf Club. Every hole is lined with trees and, despite its short length, the course is particularly tough because of the numerous dogleg fairways. Not counting the par 3s, 11 of 14 holes have doglegs. Because of the trees it’s recommended that you leave the driver in the bag.

The toughest hole is No. 15, a par 5 that goes 511 yards and offers a testy risk-reward decision. With a good drive into the wide-open fairway, going for it in two is possible by cutting the lake on the left side of the fairway.

Getting there : From Hwy. 175 east, find the town of Eustace and turn right on Hwy. 316. Drive. Turn right on Hwy. 316 and drive 5.5 miles to Clear Creek Rd. Turn right again and follow the signs to the course.

Best kept secret in Texas

Played the Pinnacle Golf course in Mabank, Tx today and what an unbelievable treat it was. Our group plays all over Texas and this course ranks in the top 2 or 3 we have played, and we have played all of the top rated courses in the state. The condition of this course from tee to green is spectacular. Kudos to the staff for providing our group with an A+ experience! If you haven't played the new greens here, it is a must play! The course is challenging, which I love. There is always a beverage cart and the clubhouse is a great stop on the turn for me to grab a quick bite and buy great drinks for my friends.

Best little secret in East Texas ⛳️

This course just keeps getting better, the new champion greens are awesome ⛳️. The fairways are full and fluffy ⛳️ .And the pace of play is very good the marshals do a great job keeping the golfers 🏌️‍♂️ moving and on pace ‼️ The food in the restaurant is also very good and the staff is very friendly and professional.
