Pinnacle Golf Club
About
Formerly known as Arrowhead Country Club, Pinnacle opened in 1970 as a 9-hole track nestled on the cozy banks of Cedar Creek Lake. Tough times descended and the course was shut down before reopening with an additional nine and new ownership in the 1980s.
Dallas’ eastward growth has turned many onto the pleasant, rural atmosphere at Pinnacle Golf Club. Every hole is lined with trees and, despite its short length, the course is particularly tough because of the numerous dogleg fairways. Not counting the par 3s, 11 of 14 holes have doglegs. Because of the trees it’s recommended that you leave the driver in the bag.
The toughest hole is No. 15, a par 5 that goes 511 yards and offers a testy risk-reward decision. With a good drive into the wide-open fairway, going for it in two is possible by cutting the lake on the left side of the fairway.
Getting there : From Hwy. 175 east, find the town of Eustace and turn right on Hwy. 316. Drive. Turn right on Hwy. 316 and drive 5.5 miles to Clear Creek Rd. Turn right again and follow the signs to the course.

Stellar East Texas facility!
From the very courteous and knowledgeable pro in the shop to the challenging and pristine course conditions our golf outing at Pinnacle was stellar! We will be back!
Well Designed, Tight Course, Fun to Play
This is a fun course to play, different from a typical layout. On many of the holes, the risk/reward of using driver off the tee is a decision to make. If you are used to playing wide open courses where you can swing away and turn off your brain, this isn't it. This is a shot maker's course.
great condition
What a beautiful course. Very well maintained and challenging greens! Paid 9.99 for 18 holes on a great course. Cant beat that.
Tight golf course
This course is a challenge. The fairways are tight, with tall trees on both sides of the fairway, making it difficult to play if you have a natural draw or fade. IT is a pretty course on the lake with deer, rabbits, and birds everywhere. The greens are in okay shape, and they putt well. IF you are going to hit your driver here, you better hit it straight, or you are gonna have a bad time. I usually shoot about an 85-90 here. On a good day....Everywhere else I am usually 79-84.
Tough but fair. Very tight off the tees.
The course is in good shape with only exceptions being 3 fairways that have been overseeded and were cart path only. Tight fairways and tilted greens make driving and putting challenging. Overall it is a lot of fun and i recommend playing.
Course needs a lot of work
This was probably one of the worst golf courses I've ever played. The fairways were not cut so the ball would not roll even if you striped it down the middle hitting the sweet spot. The greens were not close to being true making a four foot putt a major challenge. The layout was fine but it's as though those managing the course down own a lawnmower or hoses. There were big patches of sand in the middle of some of the fairways. It was awful!
Nice couse, great staff.
Greens had been aerated 12 days prior to our play, very slow. Due to water restrictions during 2012 drought, some of the fairways are still trying to recover. We were told, that they were drilling 4 more wells, so they would have enough water, if restrictions were still in place. Staff was super cordial.
Very tight fairways. Great challenge. Not brutally long.
Very challenging driving course. Great layout. Always fun to play as not brutally long. 6600 yds from back tees.
Good value
Coming out of the winter, the course was in ok shape. The greens were hard and fast, but rolled pretty good. There was one green (16 or 17?) that looked like it had been lost and they sanded it pretty good. Other than that, the others weren't bad. Not a tough course, put the ball in play and you have a shot on most any hole. Fairways were a little rough, but I think with some TLC, it's not hard to see this cours as a good one. We played for $17, so it was definitely worth it. I would rate it 2.5 stars if I could, but I would go and play it again.
Overall the course was in great shape, and the staff was very friendly..
Overall the course was in great shape. There were a few greens that were patchy, but not enough to damper the round.
Tight Course - Fun to Play
I've played Pinnacle probably 7 times (or more) this winter and always enjoy it. That's why I keep going back.
During the weekdays - not much presure and you can play as fast as you want to.
The whole North Texas Area Needs Rain - this will help all the area Golf Courses. All the area fairways are thin (including Pinnacle). Greens are starting to come out nice. 16 thru 18 greens has some Poa Annua but hopefully will die soon in the heat (or maybe they will get sprayed).
Tight Fun Course - in pretty good shape and not too expensive.
Good, solid course
This course was a lot of fun, but relatively challenging. There are scoring possibilities if you keep the ball in the fairway, but stray much and trees really come into play. Lots of water and sand as well, which makes for an overall challenging and fun round. I'll be back.
Decent for $24, not worth an hour drive though
The course isn't in the best shape. A lot of this probably has to do with it being winter. The teeboxes are in very bad shape. Fairways are decent at best, and greens are decent.
This course is fun!
I have played Pinnacle many of times in the past and it never gets old! I truly really love this course. While it is not PGA tough it still is no walk in the park with heavy wooded OB lines and lots of gorgeous lakes/ponds. I will continue to boast about this course to everyone I meet and my friends and I will always play there! Come check it out yourself, Pinnacle is a great place to play golf!
Very tight fairways!
You will have to be on your game to play this course,it is tight on all fairways and the greens are fast.Overall, it is worth the drive and the value is exceptional if you book on golfnow.com.
A shotmaker's course, needs maintenance
Although the course was in an exclusive gated resort community, its condition was not up to par. Greens were slow, with bare spots and tee boxes were not level, with too long grass. Fairways were in average shape.
Course is challenging due to narrow tree lined fairways and some par-3's with forced carry over water. With faster greens and leveled teeing grounds, this would be a great course. Definitively a shot maker's course. Nicely landscaped with astonishing views on some holes.
Electric carts were fairly new and nice. Positively surprised to see cart girl on course even it was a weekday.
This course is a great layout
Very nice golf course. The greens were just topdressed so they were a little bumpy and slow, but overall avery good course
