Formerly known as Arrowhead Country Club, Pinnacle opened in 1970 as a 9-hole track nestled on the cozy banks of Cedar Creek Lake. Tough times descended and the course was shut down before reopening with an additional nine and new ownership in the 1980s.

Dallas’ eastward growth has turned many onto the pleasant, rural atmosphere at Pinnacle Golf Club. Every hole is lined with trees and, despite its short length, the course is particularly tough because of the numerous dogleg fairways. Not counting the par 3s, 11 of 14 holes have doglegs. Because of the trees it’s recommended that you leave the driver in the bag.

The toughest hole is No. 15, a par 5 that goes 511 yards and offers a testy risk-reward decision. With a good drive into the wide-open fairway, going for it in two is possible by cutting the lake on the left side of the fairway.

Getting there : From Hwy. 175 east, find the town of Eustace and turn right on Hwy. 316. Drive. Turn right on Hwy. 316 and drive 5.5 miles to Clear Creek Rd. Turn right again and follow the signs to the course.

Too many fivesomes

It took us 3 hours to get through 8 holes. Decided to just stop playing and go to the range at the pace we were playing. Request would be to please limit the amount of fivesomes. There wasn’t even a Marshall anywhere on the course or on the first hole.

Beautiful course, great condition

Played yesterday. First time seeing the course. Greens were excellent as were fairways. Course is tight with tree lined fairways however the ground is well managed under the trees so you could always advance the ball. Not a lot of water, but when you see it, it was in play. Carts were brand new Yamaha. Restaurant was closed for remodel but was supposed to be open soon. Greens played slower than the practice green. Which I appreciated since the practice green was lightning fast. Range had an excellent facility with multiple ares to hit from and wedge/chipping practice.

Course was in very good shape and was definitely worth the drive. Only wish there would've been a starter vs a free-for-all on the first tee ... twosome, foursome, single, twosome ... just makes for a less enjoyable round when there's nobody putting groups together. Would play here again if I'm back in the area and would absolutely recommend it (especially witha a HotDeal)
