La Quinta at Quail Valley Golf Course
About
La Quinta Course, one of the two regulation courses at Quail Valley, is a typical regulation course, slightly more difficult than El Dorado because of the water in play on 10 holes.

Good time
We are playing first time and we’re having a great time. This course was a good condition and we played really fast over 3 hrs
Shocks
Need shock absorber on the carts or redo the fairways.
Spring Golf
This course has a good layout but the greens were horrible.
Greens Need Love
First time playing the course, pretty good layout but greens were in terrible shape. Not sure if it is due to time of the year or if they have just not taken good care of the greens, but they were barely playable. We had friends in town from other states and were disappointed and embarassed when we saw the greens. We should have been informed of the greens when the tee time was made and provided a discounted rate given the condition of the greens. Make sure to press them on full course conditions IF you decide to play there.
I want to like this course, but can’t
Honestly, I really wanted to like this course. The layout has potential, it can be challenging if a little effort was put in to maintain it (bunkers were hard, greens were shocking, and the amenities were embarrassing).
It is such a shame..
Hold on to your hat & buckle up!
Good luck making it thru 18 without spilling your drink while riding in your cart. Doesn't matter if you're driving on the fairway or the cart path, expect nothing less than a bumpy unpleasant ride!
Was surprised that the cart girls were doing "last call" at 5pm considering 1) It doesn't get dark til 730ish 2) The way the course is laid out, you don't pass the clubhouse once you start your round and 3) If you buy multiple drinks, the carts don't come with coolers so everything will be hot or melted by the time you want to drink or snack on anything!
The "bunkers" were absolutely atrocious...seemed like we were playing in some sort of mud and at times the bunkers were as hard as a rock! They weren't the white, sandy bunkers like in the photos.
Disappointed.
At least the 2 cart girls had a smile and were friendly when stopping by to check on us as they did their last round.
La Quinta
Tee boxes and greens need a lot attention. I know it's springtime but most of the tee boxes are uneven and all the greens have bare spots. Typically this coarse gets better in the summer.
Not the Best Condition
First time playing here this year and I wasn't impressed. The greens have quite a bit of fungus on them and are difficult to putt on. They were out of range balls so we weren't able to warm up properly. The front desk person was not polite. Overall, not a great experience. They will need to improve for me to return.
