El Dorado at Quail Valley Golf Course

About
Developers eventually had their way with this cow pasture on the fringe of Houston. Loaded with native pecans and oaks and supplemented with even more transplanted trees, the terrain is ideal for golf, with two creeks and five natural lakes on the property. In fact, it's good enough to host the PGA Tour's Houston Open in 1973 and 1974.
The traditional El Dorado Course plays to a par 70 and features five par 3s that go 190-yards-plus from the tips. Jay Riviere designed the back nine.
Jeff Blume managed the redesign and complete renovation of the El Dorado Course in 2009.

Good course.
Great course quality compared to similar price ranges in the area. New favorite course as compared to cinco and greatwood
Really good
This place is truly a gem. Great layout, rewards good play, punishes loose swings. Very well conditioned. It's a Muni, but they really keep it up. Brand new clubhouse and restaurant. When you add in they really have kept the prices fair, just a great experience overall
Fivesome slow the round to more than 5 h
A fivesome was playing in front of us , they did not even bother letting us play through, marshall never showed up when needed
Why are fivesomes allowed, this us luck of respect to others time
Friday afternoon at Quail Valley
Course was in good condition and staff were very professional and friendly.
Almost Nice
Fairways and greens are in great shape. Bunkers are mostly hard mud.
Always enjoying playing the course
Somehow, the course was busy due to ongoing rebuilding of the La Quinta sister course. However, I was not disappointed playing there
Unfairly Harrassed
At check in the gentleman asked who else am I playing with and I stated my wife, I’ve never been asked this question and he had a strange demeanor about him. The remainder of my party arrived and once we met up my friend asked was the front desk guy being weird to you as well. Throughout the game the Marshall drove by us many times giving awful stares and at one point stopped and told us to let the men behind us play through because they were members. We did so respectfully and later at the 14th hole he approached us again and said to hurry up. Mind you on this day there were bouts of pouring rain and we stopped when it was impossible to play. Disappointed to be treated in such a manner and will not return to this course.
Always challenging
Harder than average course, but overall in good condition. A bit soft in places due to recent rain, but it made the greens receptive. Will definitely come back for more.
Great course but bring your own water
ElDorado Course was great but drinking water is scarce since clubhouse is closed for construction and so is the Laquinta course. Bring your own water.
Great find
Incredible layout. Fairways in very good shape for summer and price point. Greens decent. Some bad spots.
Great for the money
Excellent
Very challenging and greens decent! Will be back again soon! Golf now has some hoy deals!
