Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Value!
I traveled an hour to play Sienna and it was 100% worth. Other courses with way worse conditions are charging similar prices for twilight tee times and I played at 10:15. Pace of play was great but I did play on a weekday after some rain. My only gripe is trying to find some holes but once you’ve been, it’s not as bad. The actual layout of each hole was nice and the conditions were great. I’m not sure how much it rained but the ground was pretty muddy and yet somehow greens were still fast and firm. I will definitely be going back despite the drive, the conditions and value are too good to not go back.
Course is in Pretty Good Shape
Sienna has been up and down in the past. Some of the tee boxes could use a little work, but overall they were in good shape. The greens and fairways were in pretty good shape. It is a little overpriced. You can pay a better/nicer course for a similar price. But overall good shape, good value if you’re in the neighborhood and don’t want to travel.
Great value with GolfNow
Course was in great shape for February play date. Greens were especially good. Nice layout for a challenging but fair round
Anything Goes
If you pay then just about anything goes. Here are my examples:
*no marshall
*twosome in front of us never raked a trap and at once point actually drove their cart across the green.
*greenskeeper actually turned the sprinklers on around the green as i hit my approach shot.
*at once point a groundskeeper on a fairway mower made me stop on the cart path leading to the next tee box in order for him to pass. My thinking is he should have stopped to let the paying customer go first.
*course and carts are overall in very poor condition.
Challenging
Very nice course with challenging fairways and fast greens.
Great / Difficult layout and value
Course was in good shape and was very fun. First time and I will be back at a hot rate, might not play for full price but easy choice at hot rate
Communication is a key factor.
At check-in we were not told that there was a girls high school golf tournament that was being played at the same time. When we got to the 13th hole we had to wait 30 minutes to play the hole because we had caught up with the girls high school tournament. We were unable to finish due to time constraints. We teed off at noon. I'm disappointed that the Pro Shop did not communicate to us the tournament was happening on their course before we date off.
What A Waste
Fix the water leaks and You can afford to water the rest of the course. Fairways are as hard as the cartpaths and painting the greens don"t help.
Fun
The greens are legit .. winter golf can be disappointing but this course was fun and the greens where amazingly well maintained
Love this place
I love this purse and the greens. Course looks nice even in winter.
Improving
Course improvement is noticeable . Tunnel going to the 2nd tee is blocked . Kindly put signage to direct golfers .
Mediocre course, slightly overvalued
There's not much remarkable about Sienna. The layout is pretty bland, outside of a few decent holes. Course was in OK shape for early November. At $60 for greens fees and cart, the value wasn't horrible but it certainly wasn't great. Greater Houston has several better courses at the price. No complaints about staff.
