Better than I expected
I didn't know what to expect with a "loggers" course in Stillwater. Service was okay, typical bar-counter golf shop. Course layout is fairly flat but interesting and challenging, although there is some work-in-progress ( the fake creek on 18).
Great value
— 4 of us (bogey golfers) played 18 holes with a cart in 4:20
— the course was in great shape for early season play
— not much interaction with the staff, but everyone was nice
— we got the Hot Deal for $37, and it was a great deal for the quality of golf course
— the two 9s are substantially different layouts and geography; it takes different skill sets as a golfer to manage
— clubhouse is nothing special, but we did not use it for much other than paying and post-round drinks
Thank you for the good review.
Good value and atmosphere
Went during the week, staff was super friendly and accommodating.
Thank you for the good review, that's exactly what we want to hear.
Thanks for coming out and taking the time to review us.
Horrible Ranger
The course is challenging but fun and was in really good condition, but the ranger was an overzealous jerk. We played the front 9 in about 2:08 and he talked to us on about 3 different holes about pace of play. We were a 4-some behind a 2-some and in front of a 3-some and were on pace for a 4:17 round. He ruined an otherwise great day of golf.
Tee time was 2:42pm. I respect pace of play and appreciate being a focus, but if you expect a 4-some to get through in 4 hours this early in the season, that's a bit rough.
Thank you for taking the time to review our course. We apologize that you didn't have a great experience. Pace of play is always a point of emphasis for us. What time did you tee off? We'd love more information so we can use this as a learning tool?
First round of the season
It was nice to get out course was packed fivesomes and tensomes pace was still okay corse was in good shape for the week after 12 inches of snow club house was nothing special but I went to golf not stand in the clubhouse. All in all it was a nice course and worth the time.
Thank you for taking part of our opening day. Thank you for the kind words.
December Golf at its best
Super Moon, Hot Air Balloons, Decent pace. Greens were all thawed but 12. I hit a flop on 12 that bounded off the green into the corn field. Starter told us to not walk on the ponds. Surreal.
Great team at Loggers. They are kind and friendly.
Chris it took a lot of effort but that Moon and Balloons cooperated. You're welcome.
In all seriousness thank you so much for the kind review. We really appreciate everything.
Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We appreciate it.
Great Value / Great Staff
Obviously we took advantage of the end of season golf rates and beer specials so may not be the golf same during the summer, but overall value was tremendous. Staff was awesome from clubhouse to first hole checkin getting a frost delay back on track by the time we tees off. Course was in amazing condition for the end of the season and the course layout for us first time players was excellent. I’ll be back next spring!
Thank you for the great review. The beer prices go up a little during the season, but the course is even better.
Have a great winter.
Great layout. Can't wait to play it in the middle of the summer. Great staff
Solid course, great staff
Really appreciate Loggers Trail staying open to the bitter end of the season for us golf nuts! Course in good shape considering it's mid-November. Club house staff, especially head pro, very friendly/approachable. Course is very pleasurable from the white tees for us duffers (12-14 handicaps). See you next season...happy holidays!
Great Course Getting Better
With its no-frills pro shop/clubhouse, Loggers Trail Golf Course at first glance may turn off some golfers who haven’t played the course. But once they’ve played it, they will understand that this course provides one of the best golf experiences in the East Metro. I had not played the course in quite a while, but was glad to see that it was still open the second week of November. Despite the lateness of the season, the course was in surprisingly good condition, an indication that it must have been playing really great earlier in the year. It’s easy to see that management has been investing in improvements to the course, including putting and chipping greens and practice bunkers. One major improvement was around the long narrow green on hole number 4. There used to be a bunker all along the right side of the green which was often waterlogged and had really deteriorated. Most of the former bunker area is now a grassy collection area and there is a shallow bunker toward the back of the green on the right. I had the opportunity to learn that the sand is well-conditioned and easy to play out of. The par 3 6th hole has a new tee box situated to the right of the middle tees and elevated about six feet above the old tees. This gives a very different look to the tee shot and makes a pin on the left side of the green more accessible. The long cavernous bunker that sits in front of the 15th green, bisecting the fairway, is also being redone and will be made smaller and less foreboding, a change that will save many golfers lots of strokes. My round reminded me of how much I like this course, and I will definitely make sure to play it more often in the next golf season.
Great value
Really good value for the cost. Friendly staff. A golf first course. Bent grass fairways are sweet
COBRA
Excellent course but very tough with all the hills here and there.
Thank you for the good review. We hope next time you can think of our service was better than okay, our goal is to have top notch service.
