St. Croix National Golf Club

About
St. Croix National Golf Course is a championship course that is tucked away amongst rolling, wooded hills. This scenic course is one of western Wisconsin's hidden gems. The undulating landscape covered with mature trees can seem intimidating but the layout was designed with spacious fairways and bailout areas that act as an excellent balance to the more challenging elements. The well conditioned greens putt fast and true, acting as a perfect complement to the beautiful scenery. There are strategically placed bunkers and water hazards coming into play but it is the topography will truly test your accuracy as well as a variety of other skills. St. Croix National G.C. also boasts a driving range perched high above a valley that collects the practice shots. It is the perfect preparation for the challenges of the golf course.

Love this place
Difficult course with a lot of trouble either side, but so fun and so beautiful
Amazing course with amazing views
Of course was in immaculate shape. Staff.and amenities were perfect!!!
Don’t play this course on the weekend!!! Please Read
The slowest pace of place I’ve ever experienced. It started on the first hole. The marshal said do you see 8 golfers on the green it’s because they are playing though because the other group are all beginners and are playing slow. I should have just left then but I was hopeful.
Golfers taking multiple attempts on the same shot with no care of other golfers. The group in front of us had 4 golfers and I watched them take multiple tee shots 3 or 4 a piece, multiple putts. This is a golf course not the practice range! It’s okay to be a beginner just play quickly not the case today. And they wouldn’t let us play through.
Went to the pro shop and the employee agreed with me as he has experienced this himself on this course. Claims the Marshall asked people to speed up and they ignored him. What’s the point why pay 120 dollars for a round if you can’t complete it in under six hours.
I quit after 13 holes it was already 5 1/2 hours.
Golf course is beautiful but nothing is worth this type of play.
If this is a top 100 course must be during the week and not the weekend. I would encourage anybody that loves this game to be the first person to tee off for the day or pick another course this had every golfer on my team frustrated and disappointed.
What a waste of a beautiful day @Saint Croix National
Beautiful Course & Challenging
Stunning views and beautiful. But know there are a ton of blind holes which makes this more of a guessing game course. Go for the scenery and don’t get frustrated if you don’t break 80 … or 85 for that matter.
Interesting Experience
Will provide the positives and negatives of playing St Croix. Positives: staff pro shop was very nice and accommodating as we played this course for the first time. The course overall condition was pretty good (except for some tee boxes that needed some work). The restaurant and other amenities seemed very nice and cool experience. Golf carts are brand new and very nice. Pace of play was also good. Pretty course overall. Negatives: there are way too many blind shots where you have no idea where you’re hitting the ball or where to play it (both off the tee and fairway). Lots of elevation on almost every hole so need to get used to that. Not necessarily the course issue because it’s been very dry but greens were rock hard and needed to account for that with layup shots. Biggest issue - not one water jug for 18 holes nor bev cart. It was 90 degrees and got sun stroke by the end of the day. Know they can’t control the weather but never played a course where you didn’t have at least a few water coolers available. Think it’s better the second time you play.
Mountain course
This is the bucket list course. I played in Colorado on Montana in the Rocky Mountains, but this course has as many ups and downs and blind shots as any course I’ve played
Must play .. or visit for lunch or dinner!
A magnificent scenic property, even if you are not a golfer this should be a bucket list destination. Hats off to the maintenance crew with the massive amount of damage and extra work created by the powerful derecho, the course was still just in great shape!
Beautiful (but not ready for heat)
The first hole is stunning, teeing off a cliff into the valley. The front 9 continue to amaze. The back 9 is pretty good, but just not quite as amazing.
There are a few VERY long carries (190-200 yards plus from the white tees), so be ready for that.
My only real complaint is that it was very hot out (90 degrees plus), and there is no water available on the course (I had brought a water bottle to stay hydrated in the heat). Until you get to the hut between 9 and 10, and then they want to charge you for a bottle of water, even though no water was available on the course!
Can’t say too much about the course because it rained and they shut down the course. We played 7holes.
Great time
Majestic views. Interesting holes. Interesting changes in elevation make for a challenging, but fair, test of a golfers ability. Staff is first rate and the food is delicious.
Where the deer and…play!
For me this is a challenging course but having played it before is a big help!
Beautiful layout with plenty of deer popping on and off the course!
Nice bar with great pizzas made on site…
Terrible stuff
Brutal course. Don’t come here. The course is in terrible condition. The tee boxes are dirt, fairways are dirt and weeds, the greens are like Velcro. Don’t come here
