About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Better Than Last Time
Off-season so all grass areas were dormant including the greens which were also recently sanded and rough. No idea what was up with the green on 15 which normally is the most difficult green I have ever played due to grade changes but it almost seemed like they are intentionally cutting the lower level longer to reduce the run-out now. Who knows. Last time I played the bunkers were hardpan but are now a light, powdery sand. Edges need work still but very very nice. Great pace but cart was an absolute dog. The place is shaping up slowly so I will be back. The place could be a gem if everything gets fixed up right

Good golf
Love the layout of this course and it’s currently in pretty good shape. However it would be great if they had ball washers and water stations on the course. I don’t understand why they don’t. Nevertheless, I will keep playing here.

The only the greens were good. Parts of the fairway had a lot of hard pan dirt spots
They could charge $50 a round and it would not be worth

Green are in good condition
Used to be an excellent course current management is not doing good job fairways are in bad shape lots of muddy areas green got better

Soggy
The course was in good shape considering the heat of the summer and the recent rains that have left the grass bare spots muddy. We have played Ridgeview many times and this was no different. The group in front let us play through and the round ended up being just a little over 3 hours in length.
The only complaint is that the cost is a high given the shape and condition of the course.

Over priced
Poor course conditions.
Greens have dirt and sand patches throughout. Fairways were the same. Range balls all over. Would expect a 30 dollar price tag for the course in its current state.

Greens and tees were in good condition. Fairways needed water. Staff was friendly and helpful. Practice putting green was close to the greens. The holes were challenging and interesting. I would play this course again.

Good Greens
Recent rain helped greens - fairways and rough conditions have terrain problems ruts washed out .

Not worth 55 dollars
Course is in manageable conditions. If it’s off the fairway it’s hard dirt. Greens are full and slow. Fairways are acceptable as well as tee boxes. The Carts are old gas beaters. I don’t know if I have driven slower carts in my life. No GPS. I’d pay 35 for the round. Not 55. Many other municipal courses in the area that exceed this for the same price. Won’t be back.
