Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club
About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Greens need work
Other than the greens, the course was in good shape. It was cart path only given recent storms with lots of downed trees and some standing water.
The greens however are not very good. You can putt on them but the ball bounces as much as it rolls on many of the holes
Could be better
The conditions could be better. Greens have been rough for a while now.
Slow play
The group I was playing with was very slow, staff came out and asked if we could move a little faster, didn’t seem to help.
Terrible
Course in terrible shape greens are half dead and bumpy. Not worth 77.00 I paid to play it. Pick somewhere else to spend that much.
Dirt
If you can play the front 9 twice then ok. Back 9 is rough dirt dirt dirt. I felt robbed paying $50 to play. $35 max for the conditions.
Distress
This place is in shambles. I thought I would spend a little extra for something different in the area, what I saw was a course that is neglected. Fairways are a mess, greens are distressed, not sure if they mow or not, just sad.
No water or bathrooms except for on the turn, and no ball washers in sight. I expected more for the price.
Rain was not a friend
Played here back to back Friday and Saturday. It had just rained and it was 90 degrees. The staff was great and the facilities were good. They had just airified a few days ago and there were little little dirt pellets all over the place. They turned into a sticky muddy mess. The greens are sick and they need to catch it before it's too late.
Ridgeview is in ROUGH condition
Our foursome had major disappointment with how badly the course looked yesterday. Since we heard someone bought it let’s hope they dump some money it in for fairway grass and greens.
Awful Course Conditions
Only a handful of greens were in decent playable shape. Other greens had large areas that have been lost. So many areas throughout the course were just mud pits. Serious money needs to be invested into this course. It’s a great layout and at one time was in amazing shape but that was many many moons ago. Don’t waste your money. You’re going to be seriously disappointed.
Not worth the $
Currently the course is in terrible shape. Fairways and rough covering dirt. Most of the green have major patches of sand spots. Ball washers are not even put out in the course.
It’s a shame they are charging $70 on a weekend for this place. It’s not even worth paying $40 in its current condition.
Never play here
Not worth the $40 at all. Should be free. It’s the worst course I’ve ever seen. Fairways and greens are completely garbage.
Save your money
This course is in TERRIBLE condition. The greens are awful, can’t judge putt, impossible to get up and down. Fairways are dirt. I can’t believe this place regularly charges $61 and you can play Pecan Hollow for $35. What a joke.
GARBAGE
By far the worst course EVER. DO NOT WASTE TOUR MONEY.
