About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Like so many in the area...
Harsh winter has taken it's toll on this course. The layout is still interesting and fun BUT the greens are in very rough shape! The fairways are a bit of a mess too. The up side is the the price is fair and the bounce and roll is wonderful.

Greens in terrible shape
Play here if you want to play the worst greens in the DFW area. Course layout, fairways, and tee boxes are nice. Greens on the other hand are the worst things you’ll play on all year.

Love the Course, Hate the Greens!
I really enjoy playing at Ridgeview. The bunkers are really nice since they renovated them. Now the greens need help, they are very weedy and play like a pachinko machine :). I heard they were areated and sanded this past week so I hope that helps.

Don’t play here
Don’t play here. Nothing is growing, sand for greens, dirt and hard pan fairways. Pins have not been moved in months with chewed up edges. Unforgivable as everything is growing in April. It’s like they sprayed roundup killer on entire golf course. Sad because I like the layout. Spend 5 hours at a different golf course. D-

IGreat condition
Great condition Pace was good finished in four hours and 10 minutes greens were Very fast, can’t wait to play again had a great game,

Need lots of work
Maybe winter effected the course but it was in a terrible condition. Wouldn’t play there anytime soon.

Lost Fairways and Greens
I have played the course several times over the past 10 years. This time, the fairways barely had any ground cover, nor saying grass, but any covering at all. Every lie, including fairways were tight, and just not predictable. To add insult to injury, the greens were completely overridden with weeds/scrub grass, so they were incredibly bumpy and unpredictable. I enjoyed the course for its design, but the playability was so bad, that I scored badly.(I shot an 81, but had 40 putts.). I hope they can turn it around, as this was a favorite memory course of mine.

Rough green, hard pan fairway
Rough green, hard pan fairway. A good thing is getting longer distances from roll. Liked the enough sand in the bunkers. Over priced for the quality but perhaps right price for the location where there is not much competition. Took a while to find my ball on 9th fairway. A wall or screen needs to be installed.

Please repair the greens!
This course would be great, if they would just fix the greens. They roll pretty good. They break as they should. The speed is usually nice, but the amount of weeds and bad spots is getting ridiculous.

Course is a mess
The grass is a disaster…….. everywhere . I love the golf course though. I wish it was in better shape.
