About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Great Municipal
The weather was perfect, but the pace was slow. It took about 4h 30m to play 18, but it was beautiful outside. Made the wait a little more bearable.
Conditions were extremely fast, and the fairways were very tight. Challenging for a beginner with a mean slice, but I enjoyed it. Especially since I got paired up with a very nice man who shot a +2. Very nice guy.
Can't wait to play it in the spring

Great layout
This course is very good and very demanding for well placed shots.
First time you play it, don’t worry about your score, just learn the course and next tome you will play better.
Number 18 is a terrific finishing hole.
Definitely one of my favorites in the DFW area.

Nice course
I recently move to Plano and played this course today for the first time. I very much enjoyed it and plan to go back. Staff very friendly.

Worth the money if it’s not too busy
This course has its challenges and very little water. Greens are fairly true. They’re obviously better in the summer. It gets very busy and 5 hour rounds are not abnormal.
I have played this course about 40 times. I don’t love it, but I like it.

Tee time mess up
The guys behind the counter didn’t seem to know much about what they were doing. I made a single reservation for myself the night before on GN. When I showed up everything seemed fine and that I’d be riding in a cart with their single rider. About 10 minutes before tee off, I was told they messed up and gave my slit to someone else. I told them that was fine if they could get me out with another group but they were booked solid. Ultimately, they told me to go out with my original group as a 5some but that we needed to keep pace. How can you take 5 reservations for 4 slots. Greens were tall and really slow. Course wasn’t in great shape. But it’s golf so I had fun.

Great Course but Weedy Greens
This is one of my favorite courses to play on, but the greens still have a bunch of little weeds{?} on them that make putting as challenging as a Pachinko machine sometimes ;)
