Ralph Plummer worked with Arnold Palmer on the original Tanglewood design back around 1970, and Ken Dye and Baxter Spann came along for an upgrade in 1988. This challenging golf course overlooking Lake Texoma is difficult because of the water and wind. Be ready when you arrive, because the first two holes can ruin your day. Some say that no. 1 is the hardest on the golf course, playing 414 yards into a dogleg that's protected by a fairway bunker. No. 2 is longer at 444 yards -- you'll need a monster tee shot to set up a reasonable approach into the bunkered green. This hole has a slight dogleg to the left as well. On the back nine at Tanglewood, no. 14 goes 230 yards with water on the right, and no. 18 is a reachable par 5 with water in play on the first two shots.

Nice course
The overall condition of the course was good. The greens were in great shape, the fairways were good for the most part. Some of the tee boxes were a little rough. Will play there again with the great deals thru golf now
Great Greens!
Firm fast greens were a real treat. My son and I played in 3 hours too! Typical summer conditions in fairways and Tee Boxes, but the greens were very good. Firm and fast, but very consistent.

Hidden Jewel
Awesome as usual. Fairways a little shaggy but I spent more of my time exploring the rough which was quite ample. Seems they are understaffed but I have always liked the course. Traps in need of good sand, more like dirt traps with surprize bottoms.

Best Course and Most Friendly Staff in the Area!
We have played several courses in the Texoma area and Tanglewood has outshined them all. By far my favorite course! The staff are so friendly and considerate.

Beautiful Layout
The course is well designed and with improved greens would be excellent all the way around. With over 25 inches of rain in the previous month the fairways were great except that they had recently cut and left piles of long grass trimmings that made locating my ball difficult sometimes. The greens are well designed and well protected with bunkers, BUT they were hard as a rock! Do not expect your ball to bite when landing on these greens. The good news is there are no ball marks to repair. The staff was not unfriendly and the pace of play about right, 18 holes in 3.5 hrs. With my discounted green fees it was a good deal and I probably will play this course again.

There are only few water supply and ball cleaner on the course.

Verr good..18th hole is a very good challenge, greens are fast but in good shape for texas winter time

Enjoying playing there about every week. Would recommend it to friends. Will play again. The course in very good shape for this time of year. The greens a in great shape.
Tired Resort
Surprised Plummer and Palmer have their name on this old course. Some good holes but dormant conditions were sad . Layed as single and caught fivesome on 11 that sent their first to putt out to tee offat the next tee . Have to admit I haven't seen anyone go to such measures to keep me from playing through .
Stone Creek WAY better and 15 mins away.
decent course
The greens are in great shape and very fast. Fairways rolled well. The bunkers were hard packed and the tee boxes needed rolling and mowing. Had to change carts at the turn because the first one wouldn't run faster than a walk. The staff was extremely rude and the locals would not let singles play through. I will give it another try though.
I love golf
Any day playing a golf is a great day course in good shape had a great time hit some good hit some bad that's golf.
Great Course
Had the place to ourselves with a couple of single players and one duo who played through our group quickly and courteously.

Nice staff, able to have relaxed but fast round. Greens excellent even in dry conditions and late in the year.

Tanglewood has great green and the course is set up for a draw. Great placement holes, and the greens are fast.
Tanglewood Round
Course in great shape other than being a little dry. Greens were great, very fast at the time of play. Just wish there were pole markers at the 150 instead of having to hunt for it. Overall a great challenging course.
