Golf as an industry must be doing well
The industry must be doing well for a course like this to be charging $37.50 a round. The GM also charged an $18 fee for my wife to ride the cart with me. Keep in mind, i was playing solo, and my wife was not playing at all. With all of the nicer courses in the area being booked, this GM has been able to take advantage, without any thought of what is going to happen when things slow down. Repeat business and players like me will not be coming back.
The GM is rude and naive. I would also add that he's probably not that intelligent since he has only made things worse in the 2 years he's been there. If the owners read this, please understand that the only reason that your business has picked up is because one course closed down and the others are booked. The policies that your GM has put in place and the way that he treats your customers will have lasting repercussions on your club.
WORST GOLF-COURSE IN AMERICA
I made an account to strictly to review how poor this course is. IT SUCKS. DONT SPEND MONEY HERE. I PLAYED HERE IN HIGH SCHOOL FORGOT HOW BAD IT WAS. DO NOT SPEND MONEY HERE
WCC needs TLC
Greens are slow, slow, slow. Old school country club from the 1960's. They need to roll the greens about once a month.
This place needs to be bought and renovated. Holes #3 and #13 are a nightmare. A lot of dead trees 1/2 cut down all over the course.
They do have new carts but cart path is bad, bunkers bad, no beer lady, club house is ???.
Good place for a practice round where you don't keep score. If you are looking for a good place try Stone Creek.
Hardly worth my $17
Greens are terrible, fairways aren't good by any means. I am by no means a golfer that strives to play at top courses, I booked here because it was $17. It wasn't worth it. Course isn't in good condition, and we were stuck behind a group of 8 for half the round., yes 1 group of 8.
Good old fashion course down home people
This a old style country club. It reminds me of golfing with my grandfather at his club. The whole staff are great from the grounds crew to the kitchen staff. They make you fell like they want you there( not like other courses that just want your money and heard you like cattle on and off their course).
IF YOU ARE NEAR BY ITS FINE
first the greens are bermuda not bent as others stated.
second it is a typical country dirt track for good ole boys who cant play at resorts or true country clubs
the adage "you get what you pay for" rings true here.
the guy who runs it and his son are very nice and i liked the hospitality. the course is very quirky and fits a senior retirement community, which is what the area has become it appears.
maintenance is severely lacking. all that said it was ok for the money but not worth an hour drive from Dallas
Attention Dallas golfers
If you are tired of 5 hour plus rounds behind clueless players this is your weekend paradise! Classic layout with mature trees and tight greens. Yes the course could use some attention maintenance wise, but still worth the drive. We can drive up, play 18, and drive home faster than we can play 18 half a mile from home. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed,
Quirky layout, terrible "greens."
The front nine seems to have been squeezed into the acreage normally reserved for, say, 6 holes, and while it does make it amusing to play for a first-timer, your score will not reflect your actual skill, since there are 2-3 unfair holes.)
Overall, the lack of course maintenance shows on the greens, which are advertised as bent grass but actually seem to be mowed down versions of the fairway.
This is a great course for the price.
Great Deal, Nice staff very friendly, greens are in great shape.
Overall an exceptional value at $19 with cart for 18 holes.
One of the best courses in the area. We can usually walk right on and start. Not crowded and a good steady pace. Good fairways well maintained acceptable greens for winter play, expecting them to be much better as spring comes on.
