Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel
About
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course at the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel. Opened in 1986, the 18-hole, public course is immaculately maintained and very demanding. The course not only offers a challenging game but also beautiful panoramic views of Denver and the Rockies. It offers 7,054 yards of golf from its championship tees, playing to a par of 72. The natural landscape of the golf course features lakes and a stream, which create water hazards that come into play on many holes. The course is also well-bunkered. One the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel premises there are excellent practice facilities and a well-stocked pro shop.

Great course!
The course was in great condition and we had an awesome time. Best condition of any public course in the area!
thise course are good,
i will come back play at this course again,
i love to play here evry week if i can, i love it,
Perfect greens
The greens were fast and true, fairways manicured. Nice course.
Greens in great shape and fast.
Lone Tree is in good shape and they take care of their greens
Average course, but not for the average golfer
Never played this course in 5 years of living about 2 miles from the course. Decided to play. Course is average. Nothing about the layout, views or service was amazing. Just average. Course is set up pretty nicely (it's not a step to the tee box and hit driver on every hole type of course) and the rough is very sticky and penalizing. The rough just grabs your club, so fairways are a premium.
The course runs through a bunch of houses on each hole. But the worst part of the course is the way they set up the course. They like to put pin positions right along the slopes of the green, which I believe shows their lack of golf knowledge. I believe in hard pin positions, but when you put the pin on the downhill, side-sloping part of the green, how does one think people can lag a putt to the hole?
Lots of elevated greens and the greens were well maintained and rolled true.
In my opinion, there are far better courses to play in the area (Highlands Ranch, Red Hawk Ridge, Ridge) and probably won't be heading back here any time soon.
I thought the course and greens were in very good condition
the greens were in very good condition. The fairways were mowed and very good condition. The rough was bumpy but not too bad
Pace of play killed the round
Course is in phenomenal shape. Greens are perfect and lightning fast. Maybe that's why the pace was ridiculously slow. Gotta' get a marshal out there! I quit after nine.
This is a "Must Play" for Denver
Thanks to the fabulous spring weather and all the moisture we've been getting over the past month, this course moved to the top on my "must plays" for the Denver metro area. This course is in excellent condition and it was a pleasure to attack this tricky links style layout with rolling fairways and awesome, huge, true greens. You will love it, guaranteed!
Great course
I will be back many times. Very challenging. But too many houses too close to holes. I like more of a golf course looking course
The course is in great condiition and was fun and challenging.
The staff at Lone Tree has done a great job getting the course ready for play. These were the best greens we have seen all spring and the staff is always cordial and workable. We played on a Hot Deal so it was a 2:50 tee time and it was a 5hr. & 10 minute round due it part to the late afternoon start. However at $46.00 total it was workable as it seems like most rounds these days are taking 4hr. & 45 minutes. Great day and the course was in excellent shape so I would reccommend this course.
Sat. afternoon round took 3 hrs. to play 9 holes.
Great course, not too difficult but would not return on Sat. PM.
3 hrs to play 9 holes and no marshal to speed up play.
Very impressed with the course conditions...
Fun layout. Enough room off the tee to keep it in play. Thick, lush rough with quick greens. Very impressed with the conditions - better than a couple of the $100+ courses in the area right now. Will definitely play again.
Nice Course, Challenging Greens
Nice course, fun track. It's a shot maker's course, you can't over power it. Several difficult approach shots over water. Greens are FAST and very challenging if you aren't in the right place, but they roll true and are well maintained. If you don't like difficult (but fair and makable) putting, you might not enjoy your round at Lone Tree. Friendly staff, nice pace of play.
great course
i can't wait to play it again.i have already told every golfer i know that it's a must play!
Great condition for a public course.
The rough is rough, very thick and hard to get out. The conditions were great. They do a good job with the course maintenance. Beautiful views. House are around but didn't seem to be a problem. Greens were in great condition, fast.
Very well maintained for a municipal course and very challenging.
Brought my father out here while he was visiting, he was very impressed with the condition of the course. STAY OUT OF THE ROUGH! The course is challenging and therefore I believe pace of play is a bit longer than average. Great Value and greens.
Best Greens
Lone tree has forever had some of the best greens in colorado. They are SUPER fast and true. Great course.
Great course and well maintained. Requires varied skills.
First time playing Lone Tree. Like the layout. Plenty of room and very well maintained even though there has been a water shortage. Greens were very true and rolled nicely. Lush rough. Need to keep the ball on the fairway. Very accommodating staff and very reasonable pace of play. Will definitely be back for more.
