Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel
About
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course at the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel. Opened in 1986, the 18-hole, public course is immaculately maintained and very demanding. The course not only offers a challenging game but also beautiful panoramic views of Denver and the Rockies. It offers 7,054 yards of golf from its championship tees, playing to a par of 72. The natural landscape of the golf course features lakes and a stream, which create water hazards that come into play on many holes. The course is also well-bunkered. One the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel premises there are excellent practice facilities and a well-stocked pro shop.

Pretty and challenging.
All holes were challenging. Many had great views of South Denver and the mountains.
The course was in excellent shape and the staff was very helpful
The course was in excellent shape especially considering the time of year. It had been years since I played here but I would definitely come back. I brought a friend that had always wanted to play and he said he liked the course even thought we didn't play very well he wanted to come back again. I would recommend this course to anyone. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Not worth the money due to conditions. Not worth the money paid. Only 9 holes open, cart path only. Wouldn't pay over $20 to do it again...
Not worth it. Would not play again. Play the same 9 twice - cartpath only. There are other options in the Denver area better than this course.
Challenging course,
This was a Sunday in January so I do take that into consideration. The greens were actually in good shape. Many ball marks had not been fixed though. But they rolled good and had good pace. The one thing that I love is the layout. Challenging holes, fun holes, and fast greens. When the course gets back into shape I will return.
The staff was low due to time of year, I had to go into the kitchen to find somene to sell me a beer. Hitting off mats on the range always stinks. No starter allowed a few 2-somes to go out on their own. And no marshal made things slow. The only reason we finished on time was because two 2-somes went in on the turn and we played the next 3 holes without seeing anyone.
The course is very pleasing to the eye.
considering the season and the weather the course was in good shape. The greens were very hard , but again the weather contributes to that . The yardage book is right on with measurements as we used our own yardage tools to verify.
Good Conditions in December - Slow Sunday Play
Lone Tree - The course in good shape and the greens - while hard were fast and true. Play was slow, but, it was Sunday and there were a number of new golfers in front of us. We jumped a hole and got in front of them - They did not offer to let us play through.
Playable under late fall conditions
Colorado's drought has obviously affected the course, but it is still in very good condition. Plenty of water hazards and traps to challenge the quality golfer.
Lone Tree
Course for the time of year was in super shape! Staff was great. Pace of play was perfect. Great day all-around.
Phenominal greens
Some of the best greens around - can be very fast and always well maintained, some with pretty gnarly undulation. In general, the rest of the course is well maintained, too.
The layout's pretty fun - long enough from the tips but still some reachable par 5s, and a couple good par fours requiring irons off the tee.
My only real issue is that they never have a starter - lots of people milling around wondering who plays with who and who's next on the tee. Kind of irritating that they don't just use the PA.
Lone Tree's a little spendy for me, but I go back regularly because of course conditions which can't be beat for a public course in the price range (note - I'm a district member so save a few bucks that way).
a good course with plenty of challenges and some easy holes.
The course was in great shape for the time of the year and they have done a remarkable job keeping the leaves away, so balls don't get lost in the clutter.
Conditioning has suffered
Always liked the course and it has been in great condition in the past. Course was not in very good condition during this last round. Greens had many ball marks and were rough. Guests need to be reminded to repair all balls marks plus one more!
Course/facility is great condition
Weather conditions (high winds) not the best for a round of golf, but the course was in excellent condition. Play was fast no one wanted to be out in the wind. In the end I shot one of best rounds of the year.
USGA rough...why???
Not the best course design. Greens were Masters fast. Pin placements were tournament...not public fun. Rough was stupid... USGA...very thick, long and difficult...not enjoyable for a 15 handicaper.
Good value with excellent conditions.
This course is always in top shape with very fast greens and challenging rough. There is a good mix of holes and the course plays very fair.
Lone Tree in the fall is Great!
Just played the course yesterday and have to say that it is in top condition for fall golf. Every time we've played here, it has consistently been in excellent condition. Kudos to the grounds superintendent and pro shop folks! We'll be back!
Traditional Layout- Country Club Conditioning
This course is an excellent layout and a real test from the tips. Greens and fairways were in very good condition. Subtle elevation changes throughout are enough to keep it interesting.
A shot makers course
All holes are different from one another. For the better than average player not the Hackers. Shots will utilize almost every club in the bag. Conditions are more like a country club.
This course has a great layout and the conditions of the course are excellent
I love the par fives on this course. The par 4 6th is a great golf hole with a forced carry over water for your second shot. I am thinking of calling this my home course.
Lone TRee always seem to be the destination in South Denver but, after playing a bunch of other places not as impressed these days
This is a fine course, good location, kept up and nothing wrong with it but, after playing a number of other places I am finding LT to be a bit boring and not worth the high prices and elite attitude that comes with the place. I will go back of course but, only when the deal is really good at GolfNow
Quick greens; thick rough. Good track
During summer months, keep it in the short grass .
