Challenging
Wonderful Links style course exceptionally challenging when strong winds are blowing in from the sea. Not the first time playing this course and will definitely not be the last.
Keep up the good work all at Cooden Beach Golf Club.
Lovely Course
Really enjoyed the course and the greens were in very good condition. The only minor issue was that we booked a 2 ball and got there to be told we were in a 4 ball with 2 strangers, luckily it wasn’t too busy and the other 2 were able to get out ahead of us.
Very average
I'm genuinely surprised by all of the favourable reviews. Fairways were patchy and poorly maintained, even allowing for the recent hot weather. The layout is uninteresting, and you almost forget how close you are to the sea, such are the lack of views. The welcome was cool at best and the price is steep for what it is. You can play courses that are twice as good for half the price just a bit further along the coast or even inland towards Kent. Unchallenging course that is overrated and overpriced.
Cooden Beach GC
From the friendly welcome to the pleasant conversation in the bar the whole experience was a delight. Played here before over 18 years ago and the course is still in excellent condition and a joy to play. I would recommend this course to all my friends.
Nice course
This is a nice links course.
Most tees and greens are in good condition, however the fairways are in need of a little TLC.
Great course
The course was in cracking condition and the greens were really receptive. Played really well until we caught up with a 4 ball of pensioners who were out for a Sunday stroll and no interest in letting us through.
Birthday golf
After deciding on having a hotel in Hastings to have a look around after our round of golf we went online to look at local courses and stumbled across this gem of a course some great history in the club house to look at great views lovely staff and members what more could you want arrived 90mins before tee off had a cheeky half and watch golfers tee off and Finnish up nice hot day helped with 30 mins to go before our hot deal tee off we grabbed our clubs checked in the clubhouse for a polite greating a smart well kept course I was very happy and will return very soon defently one to play in or nearby Hastings.
Golfbasher
Course is in great condition, greens in good condition for April slightly slow which is to be expected. Members 4 ball tee’d of ahead of us but waved us through after 2 holes. Great course for ladies and gents with old fashioned club house with good atmosphere.
Great Value
Used the Hot deal to enjoy 18 holes at Cooden Beach. Lovely course, great greens and although challenging not too hard. Only lost 1 ball, that's good for a high handicapper. If you get a chance come and play
Great Condition, not very exciting course layout
Played today for the first time, course was in excellent condition for time of year, but the holes are not very interesting, I mean by this nearly every hole you can see the pin from the tee no real doglegs and the par 5’s are very short more like par 4’s, the par 3’s are challenging with the wind as it was today, but I think the course could have been designed better with the land available. . Still overall it is a good course.
First class condition
I have played this course 4 times, and I recommend it, it is rated in the top 20 in Sussex... and there are many top courses here so that is no small accolade. Given the long hot dry spell we had recently, it was in tremendous condition, it is a very well maintained course, tees, fairways and greens were all excellent.
It was largely sunny, but being right next to the sea, and sort of linksy (it's not strictly a links but has many of the same features), inevitably there was a breeze ... which was good, because that makes the course like all good links courses.
It you want a proper game you must try this course, and look and GolfNow for a good rate.
Cooden better than expected
Dispite the dry weather the course was mubh better than expected. Wind was light , only issue was slow play with a number of single players hoping to pass.
What a gem
What a lovely course with fantastic views, course it great condition , greens are superb, will defiantly be back again
Great track
Cooden is a great course and challenging. Very warm welcome. Tees and fairways were in fantastic condition. The only slight downside is that the speed of the greens was not always consistent plus easy to lose a ball in the light rough off the fairway as the grass cuttings left made it difficult to locate the wayward drive.
Course shouldn't be open
A lovely course but on the day we played it was too wet to play. To prevent damage the course should have been closed. The weather was fine but this followed a number of days of torrential rain.
Fantastic course but don't ruin it.
One if best played
Great course layout and ameneties.Dissapointed all temps due to frost but pleasantly surprised by how good temps were and also offered discount off next visit.Play a different course each week and must say looking forward to play regular greens as believe one of the best courses played
Love;y Coastal course
Always a pleasure to play this course. No real hills but variation in hole layout makes the round interesting and enjoayble.
Well laid out course
The course was in good condition. Challenging greens but a bit slow. My wife and I had a problem free round with no hold ups however just behind us there appeared to be some delays through slow play but that is not the fault of the golf club as it can happen anywhere. The bar staff were very friendly and efficient.
