No help
Had a 3,40 tee off time arrived early because of the very windy weather. The course was not busy at all had a 4 ball in front of me using 2 buggies . I asked the guy in pro shop for a buggies and he refused . I am 74 years old and told him I would probably not play full round and would finish well before the 4 ball but he still refused . Not happy on that part . Shame it was my birthday and ruined my day could only play 5 holes after the 4 ball let me play through
First time playing Frinton - Havers
Enjoyable afternoon. All done in 4 hours and could have been less. Nice to have some loos on the way round too!
Very wet but the course restricted areas were well managed.
Very pleasant welcome and gifted a couple of trolly’s to use FOC as we had not bought our own thinking it would be too wet.
Looking forward to playing again in warmer conditions.
Make sure you take plenty of balls
We've played at Frinton plenty of times in the past and always enjoyed it, but Saturday was the last time we'll be going. If you strayed even slightly from the fairway it was a lost ball. Foot-high, thick rough isn't necessary for a course that's already challenging enough. Even if you knew where your ball was it was pot luck of whether you stood on it in the rough to find it.
I don't mind losing a ball for a bad shot, but some of the balls we lost were only slightly off line and yet still it was a ball gone. If you play straight 99% of your shots, you'll be fine. If you don't, call at Sports Direct and buy some Slazengers on your way... Or go somewhere else.
Golf day
Very happy with the staff and the course was flat but a tuff one to get round so it was challenging. The sun was out the couse was great, and it was a great day will return again soon
Very poor greens
I booked and was looking forward as had invited a friend from.london.
I did not see any references to.the state of the greens. They had been sanded had been scarifying so.were.in.a.proper.poor state.
Had we.been aware.we.would have played anotjer course
I will be contacting the club manager as.this.ruined our golf,.coupled.by being an.expensive waste.of.time..
Frinton GC
We played 5/9/23 the whole experience was exceptional.Friendly members, barstaff, pro shop.Haven course even with the sea breeze out of this world.
Lovely seaside links
The course is in superb condition and a real good test of your golf
Seaside special
The course is classic links with dimpled fairways and greens that have subtle borrows. Tees, greens and bunkers are top quality but the fairways are still recovering from this year’s drought. The 2nd, 6th, 15th and 18th are challenging for any golfer whilst no hole feels like an afterthought. All staff and members very friendly and helpful. Superb clubhouse and good food. Look forward to returning when the fairways have recovered fully and expect to upgrade to five stars across the board.
Essex Links
An enjoyable welcoming golf club with some tricky holes.Although on reclaimed marshland it plays like a links.Well worth a visit if you are in the area!
Bank holiday weekend
It was nice to see a very busy clubhouse on arrival, but still had no problems getting some lunch.... staff fantastic. Some fairways had a few cracks and the greens a little bit slow but on the whole a pleasure to play..,..
