Don't waste your money!!!
This is one of the worst courses in north Texas. The tee boxes are horrible, on some holes all of the tee markers are in the same location on the one patch of grass available. Sime of the fairways have a little bit of grass, but mostly made up of weeds. They can't kill the weeds because then it would only be dirt. The greens are decent, but they are definitely not as good as many other course in the area. This course needs so much attention, it needed to be mowed bad! The fringes around the greens was long over due for a mowing and very tall and thick. Green fees on a Friday morning were $75 plus tax. They think because they are a "resort" course they can charge whatever they want. Go play Windstar for the same price and be impressed with the maintenance and excellent conditions. There are plenty of public courses available for half the price and much better conditions. This place has become a joke and an embarrassment. You have been warned.
NO REFUND
Had a tee time to play but pouring rain and no range or cart, Called four hours before tee time to cancel. I talked to Taylor and he said no problem with a refund and since paid online accounting dept will refund back to credit card $167.88 X 2 players in a couple of days. Week later I called Taylor about no refund and he said he emailed Accounting but will email them again. Two weeks later called Taylor again and he said he would email again and look into it. Still no refund and now know they were just going to keep the money! Very unprofessional and lost $335.76 ! Definitely will never try and play there again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!
Bad Worker
Taylor has to be the worst person i have been in a room with I honesty want to leave if he's working i hope he's fired soon!!!!!
Slow Play
Slow Play during the week with the grandma's and grandpa's that are members/residents of Tanglewood. I cancelled the round after checking the parking lot and talking to the Pro.
I like this course but the local residents have taken over this course and made everyone else miserable.
Bad Greens
Number 1 and 18 greens were the worst I had ever putted on. Many greens had dead spots on them. I will be back when they get everything back. I wish I had know the conditions before I booked the round. We drove an hour and a half to play
Tangleweeds and Dirt Green
This is not a course you want to play right now. And to make matters worse , the staff will not be upfront with you about the conditions simple to acquire your green fee.
The Course:
The fairways are okay. Some are nice even. But the greens are literally dead areas with more dirt then grass. Playing half your round includes being able to putt atleast two times in any given round on each green. Not here. Nearly 75% of the greens are un-puttable. The 18th green says it all: no grass equates to not a good course. The tee boxes should be equipped with sand boxes normally to replace divots. No worries here as these concrete boxes broke every tee trying to be pushed into the ground.
The Clubhouse :
All the doors are junk and do not service in welcoming you inside. They are dirty , rusted and beat up.
The young lady working the register had the personality of a wet mop and equally was cold to each person entering. You were made to feel as if you didn’t come to play golf.
The older gentleman working this day was the best part. He was engaging and courteous.
Give him some help , replace the young lady immediately and work on your customer service which ultimately is the first impression for all golfers.
What the course should aspire to until these issues are corrected is to explain the horrid greens up front which they did not. We were told only 2 greens were lost or unplayable.
Counter these issues by offering half price fees instead of charging full price for only half a course that is playable.
This lake resort could be a nice thing for many. But until the course addresses the staff and course ? You only have a resort on the lake and municipal course that is only valued around $20.00 to play all day.

Most of the green was in poor condition but fairway was average. The winter freeze done most of the green problem.
Course is still struggling with their greens from Feb.
I love this course, but the greens are sketchy right now.
Layout great, greens need work!
Tee boxes and fairways were great and in
good shape but many of the greens have lost the grass. The greens were heavy sanded with little grass on the greens. The layout of the course was good and fun to play.
Hardest fairways ever, greens brutal
The fairways and rough weren’t well kept and the fairways were so hard that my ball would bounce like 30 feet in the air when it hit the almost like hitting a cart path. Made it hard to find balls the decided to bounce in wild directions. Only about 9 of 18 greens were entirely covered in grass and there was none on the 18th. Just a mix of sand and super hard ground. Really expected a lot better after an hour drive.
Greens and fairways are still a work-in-progress.
Greens and fairways are still a work in progress. The course just guzzled all the rain from last week, now it needs some more water to kick-start the fairways.
Good Value
Greens are coming back after the Feb snow. Fairways are about 30 days from being OK. They need more rain this week.
Nice views
Lovely course, nice layout, well kept and nice contour to some greens. I will definitely return
