About
Joe Finger laid the Bayou out in the 1970s. The links-style course he carved out of the 200 acres along Moses Bayou has plenty of water and elevated tees and greens. The Galveston Bay winds affect this open course, so the 6,665-yard, par 72 plays significantly longer. Every par 5 is over 500 yards, and four of the par 4s are over 400 yards.
On the front, the long par 4 No. 6 is tough because the approach must carry the bayou to a tiny green. And No. 10 involves a lake off the tee and on the approach.
The back is what really tears into the soul of a golfer, though, presenting a 580-yard double dogleg on No. 15 followed just a short while later by the ridiculous 475-yard par 4 17th. This hole is lined on the left by old Moses, and water hazards creep into the fairway. The inevitably long approach goes into an elevated green guarded by water.
Getting there : From Hwy. 146 south, turn right on Loop 197, and head over to Ted Dudley Dr. Turn right, and the course is on the right side of the street.

Drove by forever finally stopped.
The front desk was very welcoming. He mentioned the fairways being touched up by high tides, but that factored in very little. The greens were excellent. Neat little course. We’ll be back.

Decent course
Fairways need some fixing and bunkers with better sand. But a decent course

Greens rolling true
Windy day but course is in good shape greens were excellent. Open layout, but has several holes you can use a long iron, hybrid or 3/5 wood off the tee because of dog leg or water coming into play . Really enjoyed the course, pace of play was a little slow as a 5 some was playing in a couple groups ahead of us,causing the 2 groups a head of us too slow down still abel to play a 4 hour round

Cart difficulty
Course got carts from Yamaha & had to return them because they were inoperable. Delayed tee time as a result. Staff is amazing. I never thought I would say this but course needs rain.

Fantastic greens
Some of the nicest greens I have played this year the fairways have a little work to be done but the green are in great shape

If I was a local I'd like to master this course.
Decent greens, water lined several holes, fairways ok but some bad spots. Overall a fun day.

expected better
The greens were the best part of this course, the fish playing in the nearby waters on the front 9 were cool, but the fairways were in poor condition and the driving range was closed...sign said till further notice.

Staff not professional
Arrived and asked what time is available. Young man said all booked till 5:30pm. I asked if Ok i book Through app for just after 5:30pm and he Freaked out. Asked him why it is problem after 5:30pm and then said “stop repeating yourself. I can not handle this “ then stormed off like angry child. Pearland and others have understood me wanting to save a few dollars through app. This guy went out of control in 2 minutes.
