Wildwood Golf Course
About
Wildwood was designed in 1966 by Leon Howard, who was able to use this impressive terrain near the Big Thicket National Preserve to his advantage as he turned this par 71, 6,696-yard layout into the centerpiece of a resort community. His design features two large lakes that come into play on about half the holes, as well as wide fairways and good-sized, mounded greens.
Hackers can enjoy themselves at Wildwood because it takes unusually bad tee shots to get into trouble here. Each nine ends with an impressive hole. The front nine's ender is only a 455-yard par 5, but has a creek cutting across the fairway around 260 yards from the tee. No. 18 involves carrying a drainage ditch off the tee, then plays uphill into a dogleg fairway that is lined by trees.
In between, No. 12 presents some problems because it plays 221 yards and requires a carry over a creek.
Getting there : From Hwy. 69 south, turn right on Button Willow Dr. The course is on the right side of the street.

A hidden Gem
Next time I would bring my desert tees. The red tee boxes were rock hard.
Otherwise really enjoyed the course it was a gem to find.
Woodvillage
Out there but nice. Good conditions, staff nice, good value for money
Good conditions
I had a 12:10 tee time, they let me go off early. Pace of play was good. I was a single, had two foursomes ahead of me. One let me play through, the other group, well, I skipped them after a couple of holes.
Ok, course was good considering the time of year. Greens were thin but good on the back, grainy on the front. I will say that they are focused on course conditions and are doing the right stuff. A month from now, it'll be stellar.
Village mills gc
Great little course out in the sticks. Great staff. Course and greens in great shape. Perfect no but pretty good, a little slow. The two nines are different feel. White tees might be a little short. It challenging. Lots of hidden obstacles if first time playing. You have to make a few layup decisions. Golf shaped shots a must. Not bad not bad for the drive
Wildwood Golf course
Perfect layout with some challenging holes with water and dog legs. Greens and fairways were in good condition.
Wildwood golf course
Fairways perfect, front greens lacking grass on edges. Back nine green were in great condition.
Bad greens
For several years they have had problems with their greens and even closed the front 9 for an extended period to try and repair them. It was nice for a while, but looks like they are losing the front greens again, back greens are not as bad, but not great either. The front greens have a lot of bare areas. The cost on the weekend is $47 and no senior rates. It is overpriced considering the shape of the greens.
Best Greens in the area
50 miles Around Beaumont I've been playing in almost all the courses and this one is the best one so far, greens in perfect condition and course even with a huge rain the day before was in perfect conditions to play (car path only of course)
