Webb Hill Country Club
About
Funeral home man and golf fan Bobby Owens led the development of Webb Hill CC in 1969, and the Leon Howard-designed 18-hole course has served Wolfe City ever since. This course is heavily wooded, with narrow, undulating fairways and a good combination of interesting tee shots. Howard’s design involves a few blind tee shots that play uphill, as well as a few from elevated tees that offer good views of the holes ahead. Water comes into play on half the holes, and the large greens are of medium speed.
No. 8 is the signature, playing 590 yards and requiring two tough shots down a swerving fairway lined by a lake. The approach is nasty because of the skinny green that is covered by trees.
Getting there : From I-30 east towards Greenville, take Hwy. 34 north to FM 2358. Turn left and the course is just down the road on the right side.

Great course for the price.
The staff is extremely helpful. The course has a solid range. The front 9 is pretty fun to play but there were a couple holes on the back 9 that were being worked on. For the price, it’s a great course that isn’t over crowded. Will visit again!
Good overall course
Was a little frustrating because there was a big tournament starting the next day. Therefore there was a lot of activity setting up. There was also a junior golf event there. If I would have known about all of this in advance I would have selected a different day.
New road trip course
First time playing Webb Hill and was quite surprised. Course was in great shape even though recent rains in the area. Loved the layout and the variations. Dog legs both right and left along with elevation changes. Par 3's were very close to the same distance which could play different tee box for more of a variety. Will definitely come back and play again.
Hidden Gem
Course is in great shape. Greens are nicer than most courses in DFW.
Always Good
Webb Hill is always an amazing course. If you like a challenging course, you'll find it here.
Very nice course
The course is greening up from the last time I played here. It's a great place to play, plenty of risk reward holes.
Such an improvement from 3 years ago!
Played this place 3 years ago and it was like the links of Victoria. Dirt fairways and dead greens but man has this place improved. The greens were fantastic, and the fairways and bunkers were fine. The only thing that sucked was they squeezed some members in between tee times and it slowed down the pace of play significantly. Other than that had a good time. Would definitely come back!
The toughest public course in East Texas
Please don't get me wrong on the title. I haven't played every public course in East Texas, but I have played a few. Webb Hill is an absolute kick in the pants for me. My handicap is high, so I do struggle with certain elements of the game (playing under par) 😊. But this course is tough with the elevation changes and layout. # 17 kicks my butt every time, but I still love playing this course. You will too!
Course is taken care of.
The course was well taken care of and good pace of play. Will definitely being make another trip to this course.
One of the best course layouts.
One of the best course layout I have ever seen. Some very challenging greens and elevation. For a golfer with handicap of 15+ if you can break 100 on this course you can pat yourself on the back. The fairways, however needs improvement. Thicker grass will help arrest ball speed on the ground which is very hard when dry.
Excellent
The course was beautiful and everyone was incredibly nice and helpful!
Nice course. Rough time of year
The greens were In really good shape for this time of year. Fairways are having a hard time coming in however. Very friendly staff. Slow pace of play for a Sunday in my opinion. Waited on more than one tee box for two groups in front of us to tee off
