About
Funeral home man and golf fan Bobby Owens led the development of Webb Hill CC in 1969, and the Leon Howard-designed 18-hole course has served Wolfe City ever since. This course is heavily wooded, with narrow, undulating fairways and a good combination of interesting tee shots. Howard’s design involves a few blind tee shots that play uphill, as well as a few from elevated tees that offer good views of the holes ahead. Water comes into play on half the holes, and the large greens are of medium speed.
No. 8 is the signature, playing 590 yards and requiring two tough shots down a swerving fairway lined by a lake. The approach is nasty because of the skinny green that is covered by trees.
Getting there : From I-30 east towards Greenville, take Hwy. 34 north to FM 2358. Turn left and the course is just down the road on the right side.

Golfer Reviews
Would not recommend this course to anyone
Stay away
Webb Hill
The course is in horrible condition, the so called pro said it is due to rain. But has not been mowed, greens are not going to be able to putt on anytime soon. The weeds are over taking the course. Course will probably close soon especially since the the pro dislikes the Golf Now company. I’m thankful I didn’t pay regular green fee.
Didn't enjoy myself
I imagine this course is better during summer but right now its very rough. Cant put because the greens are so bumpy and slow and the tees were shaggy and everything else was just okay. Left after 9 because the pace of play was so slow.
After rain.
Not bad after a big rain but the greens have not recovered after the big freeze. Hope they get it together soon.
Good layout
For the price the course was in bad shape, I booked it on line for $25 but they didn’t want to honor the online price and charged us $30 per person! The course was in bad shape, the greens were in bad condition and It looked like the winter weather took its toll on the greens. Was not in the shape I was hoping for after driving over an hour to come play and the reviews I read on the course was rated high and no in the clubhouse said anything about the course conditions! Was not the way I remembered it being, I hope they can turn it around.
Would play again.
As an average to below average player. It’s tough to complain. Sure the course wasn’t in your shape but it’s middle of March after a brutal winter. Staff is incredible. Just use one of the golf apps or follow the golf course guide to follow holes. A lot of blind holes and fairways are at times tough to distinguish. Would play again.
Nice Getaway
Played in December....would love to see it in the Spring.
Great Outing
Beautiful course excellent condition fun easy satisfying day
Fun course. Great greens.
My first time on this track. Good course, no major complaints about maintenance. A couple of tee boxes were rock hard.
Excellent greens.
I got lost at the turn. Could use a sign directing you to #10 on the otherside of the clubhouse.
Staff is great course not so good
The guy at the counter was awesome. Said he didn’t have my tee time from Golfnow. The course seemed like it hadn’t been mowed in a month. I get that it’s been raining but it hasn’t for almost a week. Plenty of time to mow. Course allows for people to jump to the back 9 when they show up so it slowed our game down a lot. Front 9 had no one on it.
A hidden jewel
Fun layout. Quite a bit of up and down elevation change. Good mix of dogleg left, right and straight holes. LOTS of blind tee shots; study the course layout signs! On-course amenities were weak — no ball washers, no water coolers. Sand traps were hard-packed dirt, not sand. Greens were shaggy, slow and didn’t putt true. Fairways were not well-defined, so it was hard to tell whether you were in the fairway or rough at times. BUT pace of play was spectacular — 2-1/2 hours for a single in a cart! Three groups were quick to let me play through. Staff were as friendly as one could possibly want. The owner, Charles Randy who worked for Harvey Penick for 7 years and was sponsored by Penick for his PGA status, was in the pro shop when I checked in and took the time to welcome me and talk about golf back “in the day.” Totally charming and a delight to talk with. If I lived locally, I’d join this club just to spend more time with Mr. Randy. Despite the limitations of the course, it’s worth a visit.
They need to mow
Fantastic layout. Fun to play. Everything but the greens needed to be mowed. Greens rolled good but were a bit slow. Pace of play was fantastic. I felt like I was the only one out there for a while. Could be a destination course with a better maintenance budget. Go check it out.
We like this course because when all the other courses have no early slots left we can go out here going to the country is a good thing sometimes
