Webb Hill Country Club
About
Funeral home man and golf fan Bobby Owens led the development of Webb Hill CC in 1969, and the Leon Howard-designed 18-hole course has served Wolfe City ever since. This course is heavily wooded, with narrow, undulating fairways and a good combination of interesting tee shots. Howard’s design involves a few blind tee shots that play uphill, as well as a few from elevated tees that offer good views of the holes ahead. Water comes into play on half the holes, and the large greens are of medium speed.
No. 8 is the signature, playing 590 yards and requiring two tough shots down a swerving fairway lined by a lake. The approach is nasty because of the skinny green that is covered by trees.
Getting there : From I-30 east towards Greenville, take Hwy. 34 north to FM 2358. Turn left and the course is just down the road on the right side.

Hidden Gem
Very nice rural course. With a little TLC, this course could easily outclass several of the municipal courses in the DFW metroplex.
Disgusted
I’m new to the area, and for this course to be rated 4 stars is utter embarrassment. If you want to play in a cow pasture then go ahead, I have never left a golf course due to conditions but this is just pure embarrassment. Stay away stay away.
Webb Hill
This is a local course, I do not recommend you travel to it to play it, you will be let down. Save your money and time. I do not recommend it.
Ragged but challenging
I played today to get a round in before the rain and snow returns to the DFW area. The downside to the course for some may be to far out in the country. The course has more elevation changes than most courses in the area and several blind tee shots. There are hole maps on each tee so a player can see the various landing areas. There is water in play on several holes and the holes are all tree lined. Shot placement is critical. Conditions are probably the weakness. It is winter and grass is dormant but the bunkers need work and grass on some of the greens is thin. That being said the gentleman manning the pro shop was very friendly and helpful. For the hot deal rate I received I can't complain about the less than stellar conditions. For that price it is well worth the drive.
Nice layout, solid condition
I like this course a lot. Definitely the nicest course in my general area. I like the layout a lot, the pro said they were busy that day, but pave of play was great. Winter conditions had affected the greens somewhat, but the rest of the course was well maintained. Will definitely be playing here more in the future.
Great price and good experience
Always a fun round @ Webb Hill CC. Water leaks have been fixed and greens are looking better every time we go. Mr. Charles is a very nice man.
hot hot hot
The course played well considering the conditions. It was stifling hot. But the greens were watered properly and were very slow. The pond pin l ou cations were spot on. Had to give up after 14 holes just too hot and we had a 9:30 T time. It is always a pleasure to visit with the owner he is a book of knowledge on Golf.and he is proud of his golf course. Staff was incredible. The ground crew was very courteous.
Great layout, great staff, great price. Can’t beat Charles or Mel’s hospitality
Holes #. 1,2,10,11 are pretty open. After that, it’s trees, and elevated greens. Back is tough, very targeted tee shots. But I love the course and especially the hospitality, Not knowing what to expect ,out in the country, you drive up to a nice country club setting with dining and a pool. The pro shop is small but they’ll have what you need. Mel is very friendly and helpful and most likely you’ll get to meet Charles, the owner. Fast play. Greens can be subject but they try hard to make it a special course unless those in the metroplex. Great place. Don’t miss it,
Rain Go Away
Course looks good..friendly staff
Course very wet from rain..they are working hard
to keep it open.
Great but tough course
Out in the country. Great course layout, trees and water. Greens are always suspect
and slow. Great staff, great friendliness (especially Charles). Great price. Love to play as pace is very good and a challenging course
Surprised
I hadn’t played the course in more than 20 years but was surprised to see it in pretty good shape, despite the wet conditions.
The greens were very slow but considering the conditions and the time of year, I thought they were in good shape ( and a good bargain for a holiday). The course was not that busy, which was another surprise, due to being the eve of a holiday.
All in all, I would come back to play here and would recommend it to anyone.
Fast Pace, Slow Greens
The greens needed mowing and were very slow. All grasses were fairly thick and green giving true lies and rolls. We had the course to ourselves to enjoy the challenging layout and solitude.
