Poor conditions
Played the home of Ryder Cup - couldn’t be more disappointed.
The fair ways were patchy and dry - great for ball run off but not nice to play on.
Greens were rock solid with little forgiveness in them - like rocket ships.
Lots of repairs around tee boxes leading to ropes and steel bars.
5-6 holes, bunkers were out of play.
Overall - the course is encased by transport and very poor at this time of year for a £60 round.
Greens in great conditions
Played here today for the first time. They have put a lot of care into the greens and it shows. Course was enjoyable, fairways starting to dry up but still had plenty of grass on them. I will be back for sure.
Worth £15 not £25
Rocked up to a nice putting green and practice nets. Made our way to the first tee box which was in amazing condition. Started walking down the fairways to find them really dry and missing grass in places. Not much better when we got to the green. Peak of summer, all greens had drainage spikes in them and some a little sandy which was disappointing. Most holes were on the short side with a few challenging holes, meaning it played fairly easy.
Not worth the £25 we paid but would play again for £10-15.
Excellent value
Course is in really good condition with excellent greens. All staff really friendly and welcoming.
Worth a visit and we will be returning.
Good value
Played Verulum today, fantastic weather, course played well, greens had been sanded but still rolled true. Some very good winter deals available so if you are looking for somewhere different to play you could do a lot worse than here.
All round great course
Great course All year round, holds uo really well in bad weather, the greens are some of the best for this time if year, will be playing more often, the pro in the shop is really welcoming and likes a chat and a laugh, very friendly.
