Diamondhead Golf Club

Course layout especially the front was just weird and extremely difficult to navigate playing for the first time even with hole by hole layout packet provided. Tee boxes were ok. fairways and greens were dry, slow and overall in rough shape. Staff was courteous and helpful.

I booked this course online as part of vacation activity at 4:00 pm. When we made the turn after nine holes we were told we had to stop playing at 7. We were not told earlier this was the case. You can’t be expected to play as a foursome for 18 holes in 3 hours. The greens had not been cut for several days.

The course was in pretty rough shape. Many greens rough and ball didn't roll very well. Most fairways and tee boxes were in need of mowing. Pace of play was good and a decent layout, but overall condition of course was disappointing.

Not worth the hour we drove when courses around here are in better shape. The layout needs an overhaul unless you don’t like hitting your driver which is the most expensive club in the bag next to the putter. The second shots might end up being longer than the first because of the direct doglegs that really don’t leave room to take the shortcut, like 30% less trees, a mowed fairway that is level all the way across and greens that need aerated, the over saturation has created a fungas that kills the surface grass and leaves these patches or muddy looking spots. What do I know, I’ve only maintained grass for 20 years. Good luck cuz I won’t be back driving an hour for that kinda course, no thanks

Terrible pace. Booked 5 people to tee off at 9 am. Other parties had no respect for pace of play.

Friendly people, overall great course

Only place open as the ice was melting. Greens were awful, fairways weren’t bad. Several 90 degree doglegs, very tight for the most part. Scored pretty good but you need to know this course to have a great round. Would like to see the conditions in the summer.

Was in town visiting the National Park and wanted to get a winter round of golf in. All of the main resort courses in the area are closed for season, so Diamondhead had the best value and reviews for what was open. Definitely more park district/municipal than country club.

Always unfair to judge a course by its conditions in December, but lot of red flags. Greens are thick and slow, ground is too solid in both fairways and rough, and some of the hills are just outright stupid design. Definitely need a range finder with slope, standard 19Birdies doesn’t cut it here. Probably 6 holes with at least 100 yards of either up or down slope. The flag on Hole 8 was literally 20 feet tall and I still couldn’t see it from my approach. It’s a fun test of golf but kind of silly. Do give the designers credit for making good use of the land.

On the positive side, views are fantastic, in a very lovely neighborhood and mountain range of Hot Springs, and there are some fun signature holes that are challenging but fair. Pace of play was great and staff and other players were very kind. Would be worth a second chance in peak season, but there are probably better options.

First time playing this course and I had a blast. The front nine was a little tight. Well placed tee shots were rewarded with good looks at the flag. It opened up a bit on the back so one can be more free swinging without punishment from being slightly off line.

One item of note- you will be flag hunting in every hole because Diamonhead has the smallest greens I have played in quite some time. They are TINy!! And in good shape.

We had a great round at Diamondhead! Course conditions were excellent, yet challenging. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens were all in great condition and provided more than sufficient challenge for us. The downhill and uphill layout of the course kept each hole interesting, especially for our first time. Highly recommended ~ but only if you can straight off the tee.

This would be a decent course with a good layout, but the greens were terrible...full of weeds, bumpy and sandy. Not worth what they charge as long as the greens are in that condition.

We were visiting Arkansas in our RV and decided to come and play here a few years back. We did it the same this year when we arrived in Arkansas. This is a very nice course. The pace is great and you never feel rushed. The course is well maintained, and we love the hills.
