Course was in good condition considering the recent weather. I was surprised.
First Timer
A beautiful course. Course conditions weren't perfect but very playable.
Views on several holes were worthy of national pictorial coverage.
Will definitely play here next time we're back in Williamsburg.
Uncrowded great day at the course.
Had a 11:40 tee time. Weather was great, mid 50'sFairways are brown this time of year, but are mowed and in good condition. Greens are still in great shape, but evidently most golfers do not repair their ball marks. Office personnel and starter were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely play there again.
Good for the value.
For the dollar value its worth it. No issues with the course. Played all three tracks in less than 5.5 hrs. Not bad...
Surprise
Wonderful test of a not real difficult track with very good greens with a good pace nd true roll.
Great value for $10 - 18 holes w/cart
Great value for $10 - 18 holes w/cart. Be aware that you are entering a US Military base and your vehicle will be checked and inspected!
They have 3, 9-hole courses. Probably a step or two up from a public course. But no frills (no: tees, towels, cart help, and rangers). The first 9-hole course was empty - I was about the only one out. The next 9-hole course was almost empty! Nothing too challenging and mostly flat. Fairways and greens were in good condition. Rough was very deep and with the leaves on the ground I lost 3-4 balls in the deep grass.
Good place to play golf
My first impression was the practice area with manicured tees lush with grass. I could have just stayed there all day...and based on my not so stellar play maybe I should have. All 18 holes I played were in great shape; all of the greens were consistently lush, true and same speed. We never waited on any tee to continue play. All the staff were helpful and friendly. And, big bonus, the clubhouse grill was fast and the food was excellent. Look forward to coming here again.
Review
Good value for the money. Pace of play was very good. Greens and fairways in good condition. Rough was to high.
Ft Eustis golf 10/16/2016
Good day for golf with sunny skies. Fairways in great shape but greens not very good due to falling mugs infection.
Nice Course 27 Hole Layout
Very nice military course. Plenty challenging from the tips. Fairways in terrific shape and greens "pretty good". Virginia had some terrible heat this summer with tons of rain early and then no rain late in the summer. Greens are pretty decent all things considered. Very fair layout with plenty of challenges. 27 holes so you can play a slightly different 18 three times.
Not Bad
First time at The Pines. Not a difficult course that was a bit hampered by just having aerated the greens so the were pretty rough. I will probably go back next year to see how the greens are at their peak.
Great Course
The course is in great shape.
Nice course
Course is in great shape, and fun to play. I would definetly recommend to any level golfer as the have four sets of tees.
Great value
Course was in great shape. A lot better then some of the higher price golf courses I have played
Thought strange snack bar closes at 3pm on a Saturaday
This was one of the best course I have played in a long time. Outstanding Course!
Outstanding Course, very good layout with the Pine Trees in the foreground. Nice and Wide Greens. Looking forward to playing there again in the future.
The pines
Course was in good condition and pace of play good
Think Tight and have fun
Great course, personnel and price. A must for all who have approved base access and want to tune up your golf game.
Plan to walk so you can enjoy the layout. Above average DoD course.
A great course for young golfers to test shot shaping and big tee shots.
Every hole has new challenges
Well designed course. Not just your point A to point B course. Several Challenging tee shots but not too difficult. I would give it a 7 out of 10. Well worth the money. Even has a Family friendly 9 hole course with additional "large" tin cups for kids.
