Refurbishment coming but still worth playing.
We had a great day golfing on this hilly challenging executive golf course. Jimmy and Jerome, the Pro Shop employees, are friendly and helpful. Doug and Cowboy are both pleasant starters. The pace of play was perfect. We saw deer, a wild turkey, and many birds on this course. I could only give it 4 stars as the golf carts and cart paths are super worn out. We are excited to hear they will upgrade this course in the near future. We plan to play this course again, admist it's age. It is a beautiful setting, and the hills make for a great practice for us amateurs. Thanks, Rock Creek Park Golf Course!
Excellent Practice
This course is a excellent course for refining your game. It is not long but the greens are small targets, tricky to read, and roll true.
They will be doing renovations soon and I'm excited to see the changes.
Not fancy but good value
Its a public park course. If you're not looking for an amenity filled experience, this is a convenient location with decent greens for an economical fee.
Pace of play
My group had two kids, one teaching the other sharing a bag.
Starter must have been cool with it as we stood at the first tee box 15 minutes behind schedule.
The group in front was 4 teeneagers boolin, but playing so slow.

Got lost
Holes are not really identified, was all over the place. Along with a couple in front of me. Fairways were bad . Greens were in good shape. Good value!
Okay
Would I recommend this course of course. Especially if you just want to go out and play. But man the the guy at the pro shop, I wouldn’t say he is rude. I would say he too high. Like i walk in and he just staring at me… I’m used to walking into a pro shop and being welcomed or asked if if I’m hitting the range or something. I felt like I was inconveniencing him but if you want a course to just go out and play this is okay. They have a front 9 and a back 4 ( defined different.
Green were goody. Fairways definitely need work… didn’t matter if you hit it down the middle … it was like wtf might as well sprayed it to the right or left
Beautiful course, annoyed by starter.
Teed off at 7 AM, on the green getting ready to putt at 7:07 AM when the starter comes by telling us we need to move along. What’s the rush, the next tee time is 7:10, we on the green putting and you’re rushing us?Why??? Played the rest of the round in a bad mood because of that idiot. He tried to be nice to us at the 9th hole. Course layout is weird and fairways could use work. The rough and fairway was similar cut.
Disappointing even for the money
This course is the necessary municipal backup course when you need a last-minute booking for 4, but the conditions are rough, the staff is rude, the location typically inconvenient, and more expensive than other similar courses. No food. Disconnected layout. Very hard grounds and tee boxes. Mostly long par 3’s. If you can, avoid it.
Great for mid-tier golfers
Not the nicest course in town, but it beat the reviews that I had read. Good conditions, fine price, and great mixture of holes. Perfect for irregular golfers
