Blueberry Plantation Review
Played here last week and was very disappointed. I have heard about how excellent this course was and decided to drive down and give it a try. Brought my fiance to ride the cart with me (not playing) and was forced to pay $100 for us to be able to play. Staff was rude and acted bothered by us. I actually loved the course setup however the conditions were not great. Every tee box was full of divots, hard to find a good spot to tee off. Long strips of grass in the fairway which looked terrible. Fairway is not cut nearly low enough. Most of the greens looked nice other than the fact they are also not cut nearly low enough, Ball rolls 10 different directions on every putt due to this. The biggest problem was hole 10 green, It looked like a third plane had missed it's target and landed on hole 10 green. Overall I just think there are better options to play golf around this area.
Think before playing
This course is very poorly maintained!! Greens are poor at best, tee boxes bare and general condition needs a lot of care.
Terrible Golf Course
Place was trash if I'm being honest, only gave half of the money back even after not playing the full 18. They Take people's carts even when they aren't done with the rounds because of big parties. All in all wouldn't recommend to play here unless you want fights.

The Alma ride
Course suffered wind damage from the hurricanes but there was nothing that would cause us any problems the greens on the front 9 were a little slow back 9 was better would go back and play again and look forward to it
Enjoyable
I will be playing this course again; definitely worth the cost to play.
Pleasant Surprise in Rural Georgia
I had driven by the course on a recent camping trip. Decided to take the 60 minute drive from my house in Brunswick to Alma to play this course. Course is set within a residential community, which is almost completely built out. It is a nice mixture of beautiful nature/farmland and nice homes. The staff was super friendly. I am 69 and don’t score in the low 80’s like I used to… but I still enjoy a course that makes me work to play bogey golf. The 18 hole course layout is challenging but not punitive. There is water on several holes and a number of holes with drainage/creeks transversing the fairway. There are a few holes that require restraint and course management to stay out of trouble. The holes are pleasing to the eye. The greens are uniformly on the smaller side, which requires more skill on approach and short chip shots. A few were particularly challenging with short depth, but extended width. We played at 10 AM and for all practical purposes had the course to ourselves. The 200, 150, and 100 yard markers are center fairway painted blocks in the ground and accurate (you had to search on a few holes because they were a little overgrown/not edged) I did not find any PGA distance markers on the tees so a handheld GPS is very useful. Did not have a thin lie in any fairway and the rough, though thick, was very playable. The greens are on the slow side but consistent. Not unlike a number of other courses I have played in Central Georgia, there are not rakes in the sand traps. I have always thought that those clubs should put a rake in each cart for players to use. Most tees had benches to sit on and there were several water coolers on the course with ice cold water. The golf carts are gas powered and older but suited their purpose. The driving range is shortened and they ask that you not hit your driver. That was inconvenient, but not a dealbreaker by any means. They could install telephone poles with netting, but I can’t imagine it would be worth the expense. If you are looking to play at a world class resort where everything is new and shiny Blueberry Plantation is not on your list. However, if you’re looking for a very enjoyable golf experience at a South Georgia golf course located in the rural environs of Alma you will not be disappointed. The day we played they had a “hot deal” at 10 AM with an additional promotion of 20% off the green fee. That made the price of golf with a cart less than what you would pay for two value meals at a McDonald’s! We have played several courses within a 70 mile radius of Brunswick Georgia, and have been compiling a list of preferred courses. While not number one on our list, for the value, enjoyment of the course, and pleasant surroundings Blueberry Plantation is likely to rank amongst our more favored options. We will definitely return and play this course again. I recommend you give it a try!
Good designs of the course.
Overall the course was very fun with very different concepts of the holes. Some of the holes however weren’t in great condition with sand on greens and the sand traps were filled with water. Either way I enjoyed myself.
Extra fees at check in
At pro shop check in, 10mins prior to our tee time, we were informed that the green fees were $10/per player higher than booked on GolfNow. Why? We were told it was a holiday weekend rate. He also added a $10 cart fee for a single rider, as we were a threesome. I asked for a receipt and he told me it was too late. Said I needed to ask before he rang it up.
Maybe he was trying to make up for refunding half green fees to the kids checking in before us. They were an hour late for their tee time and it was too busy to fit them in.
We played the same course 2 days prior to this and had a 5 star+ experience with a different pro shop staff member.
Terrible experience
We arrived for our 8:00 am prepaid round and the corse was closed and would not be open until noon. There were several other people waiting also. There should be better communication between the course and Golf Now to prevent these occurrences! I contacted the corse later about a refund and was told they would handle it and they did not! I had to dispute the charge on my credit card to get the 116.00 dollars back!
