What's the best way to describe EagleVail Golf Club? A river golf course? A mountain golf course? Actually, it's a little bit of both. It's also a pretty golf course ... and pretty tough. The 18-hole Bruce Devlin and Roger von Hagge design, which opened in 1974, isn't a long golf course by today's standards, but there isn't a lot of room for error. The only true mountain design for a public golf course in the Vail Valley places a high priority on shot placement, and you should as well if you want to have a good score. The tee shot at the par-5 first hole is elevated about 75 feet, there's the red barn at No. 2 (part of the area's agricultural heritage) and there are plenty of elevation changes and breathtaking views as you make your way around. But no matter what you call EagleVail Golf Club, chances are you'll be calling for another tee time once you've played there.

Beautiful course. Extremely disappointed that only 12 holes were open. Paid for 18 online.

Sorry sir, but you need to read the fine print. There was plenty of verbiage indicating that there were only 12 holes of golf open, regardless of what the marquee on the golf now app read.

1 word- Amazing

Let me start off by saying the Staff was the Best ive ever dealt with!

The course was great and in good condition considering the rain the day before.

The greens were also slow due to the rain.

My only Negative is that holes 13-18 were closed and this was not mentioned to me prior. Being on Vaca from AZ this wouldve been helpful but it wont stop me from playing here again next time Im back in Colorado

Great course

This was a very interesting course. We loved the different and challenging holes. Pace of play was slow only because the couple we were golfing with were an older couple and very slow.

Golf in the Mountains

Fun course to play. Some challenging holes but most are playable for average golfers. Worth the money.

A Challenging Value

Great value compared to other courses in the area. The course plays fairly tight with many holes lined by residences. There were several elevated tee boxes and greens that made for really cool views. There were also several blind fairways and thankfully the cart screen gave excellent advice on how to play them. The ability to order ahead of the halfway house on the cart’s screen was awesome and the first time I’d ever had that ability. Overall it was in great shape and I’d play here again any day.

Great course!

This course is fun and challenging . There are good elevations changes that make for some tough holes and part of the river challenging a good portion of the course could Make for a long day . We had two groups and everyone enjoyed this course thoroughly. Fun and beautiful , defiantly worth the play if you are in the area

Disappointing- stayaway

Very disappointing course,, from the driving range which has limited distance (200 yards) to the inattentive starters, to the homes built on the course ( with warning to be careful of hitting homes) to multiple tricked up holes, number 9 among others which results in huge backups in play. This is a $40 course or better yet, stay away.
